This is an academic discussion paper analyzing a written piece of article give an independent opinion. This discussion paper focuses various innovations by Apple to make their products environmentally friendly.
Several methods were used to conduct this research. The energy was analyzed in terms of efficiency; the overall product was analyzed from the production point to where it reaches the consumer and the efficiency of operation of the device. The technology examined was the battery, the processors and the display units/touch screens.
According to the report, Apple has made a significant improvement towards being an environmental friendly consumer company. For example, the iPhone 4 emits 18% less emissions than the iPhone 3Gs. They are the first company to sell products free of polyvinyl chloride plastic and brominated flame-retardants. The iPhone is now energy efficient. Their new battery life is now 8hours with prior models only having 6 hours of battery life. Another innovation was upgrading their new products rather than manufacturing new products from scratch. They also have an important recycling policy, which uses Apple’s innovated free recycle sensitive disposal units. They managed to recycle 10% of their products. The US Environmental Protection Agencies Energy and surpassed it by at least double the Star guidelines for efficiency.
When observed from a business context, Apple products have a large market share due to their innovative cutting age styles and technology. The outcomes of such good reviews settle well with the consumers in the market. This, therefore, leads to increased sales and overall improvement and growth of the company.
In conclusion, every consumer wants to feel safe when using a certain electronic product. Apple has instilled this confidence in its consumer by using the latest technology and winning over the consumer confidence.
