Introduction
Technological changes have grown with a high speed with the world having to change their mode of work and working environment. These changes have led to fear of systems that are relied upon by organizations. Data, computing systems, information, personnel, among others are the resources used by organizations that need to be handled with care for the organizations to achieve their strategies. This paper will look at Incident Response Team elements, challenges that are encountered by IRT and actions of IRT that are critical in case of disaster.
Incident Response Team
Incidence Response Team is a group of people who prepare and respond to any incident or emergence in an organization who are trained in order to respond to a certain emergence and in technology they prepare for computer theft or information theft, physical threats in an organization among others . According to discussed processes of developing IRT charter which will be used to establish the elements of IRT charter. The elements include; mission statement of IRT that will enable in building management support. The second element is stating the goals of the team with the third being identification of team structure which is build to ease handling of an emergence where each member knows his/her role in the team. Fourth, is identification of core team services and fifth is identification of skills for every member in the team in order to achieve the goals set.
IRT being the team that is called when an emergence occurs is a hard team to form and manage. There is a challenge of knowing whether the IRT is required in an organization since many outsource team from agencies. Defining functional requirements is also a challenge and defining IRT role. In addition, staffing team is a challenge due to expense encountered yet not knowing whether the disaster will occur.
Also, actions such as reliable communication, best management, and using acceptable measurements for a specific disaster or incident are critical when a disaster occurs .
