With the many challenges facing the society one of them being global warming, there is a need to develop a marketing plan that is aimed towards improving the overall welfare of the society. One of the best methods that the company has been able to market itself is through developing environmental friendly products. These products are found at cheap prices that enable the company to attract more customers. It designs products that can meet the specification of the emerging market. The customers are able to have products that are worth the value of money that they have used on it. It slogan for the year “Turn on Tommorrow”is a clear indicator that the company minds about the future (Dahlstrom, 2011).
One of the marketing strategies is the production of eco –friendly packaging materials for their products such as mobile phones and air conditioners. The materials used to manufacture this packaging material are renewable, and this is one way of reducing pollution and going green. Unlike their market competitors that use nonrenewable material to produce their packaging products, Samsung has been able to be on the frontline in the campaign against global warming. It has been able to design mobile phones that are solar powered. This is one of the marketing strategies that show the extent at which technology can go green. Its customers have been able to approve this development since it is an energy effective mobile phone.
Another key marketing strategy that has proved to improve the performance of the business is the provision of warranty services. Customers will not have to dispose of their products, which end up polluting the environment. Disposing these products would result to environmental pollution, which is the leading contributing factor to global warming. With the smart evolution technology, customers have the opportunity of upgrading the software’s of their products such as television sets by plugging in a card. This is a move that is towards sustainable and cost effective designs (Viardot, 2004).
These strategies will improve the overall brand of the products and the business figure of the company. Many electronic products are considered expensive, and a customer would require quality goods for each product. Giving them warranty on their products is one key strategy of promoting the company name. The strategies are in line with the strength of the company in developing products that are environmental friendly. These methods do not infringe any patent, any other company is not using the smart evolution technology and Samsung developers developed it. The solar powered mobile phone is original inventions made by the Samsung engineers.
With the growing market for smart phones. Many people are in search of a phone that has sustainable power. One of the major weaknesses of smart phones is the short running time of the battery. A solar powered smart phone provides the best solution since it can be charged anytime and user friendly. With market competition being high, consumers are not only looking for market price but also the quality of the commodity to meet the current global challenges (Rogers, 2010).
