Starbucks Company is a leader in the Beverage industry. The company with its head offices in Seattle, Washington has a vision to meet the diverse needs of its client’s coffee needs. It has a mission to keep glued to the vision it has for its customers. The company’s mission is to continually provide high quality coffee products to its customers. In order to provide these required standards to its ever-increasing clientele base, the company labors to inculcate the best practices on its employees. Service industry requires the most customer friendly services. Customers are the backbone of Starbucks Company. The top management appreciates this and puts all its efforts in customer-oriented services to sustain its clients as well as attract more patrons.
In addition, the company understands its social responsibility within the society which it operates in. It has the social responsibility to be mindful of the ongoing on an environmental front. It continuously responds to issues that have impacts on the environment due to its direct and indirect operations. It adopted an environmental mission in 1992. In order to ensure the corporation takes the environmental issues seriously, it instituted a Green Team. The company incorporates its employees in ensuring it meets the environmental concerns. The team to ensure this incorporates members of the community, corporate management and members of staff. It looks for ways to reuse, reduce and recycle waste. The company also contributes to the local community environmental efforts.
Success of a company stems from the values needs and wants that are interwoven within organizations and individuals. It is also a subject of methods taken by an organization to solve differences and conflicts between them. To realize success, the organization must be able to attract and keep the best and most productive people into its workforce. First, there is always the conflict of personal goals of individual employee within the group. In addition, the corporation and the team should find solutions to conflicts involving the objectives of the team on the corporation against the objectives of the corporation on itself.
Individual values inform employee actions and behavior at different levels. The core traits that can help an organization attain the most yielding employees depend on employee competence, character and commitment. An employee with questionable character does not act on the beliefs of the company. An employee with the requisite competence has the proficiency to achieve organizational goals. Good character requires fundamental spirituality and ethical integrity. It also entails emphases on finding solutions to organizational problems and not casting blame. Recommendable character informs employees to act based on sound principles. Competence is the entrepreneurial spirit that tirelessly seeks to innovate inside bureaucratic frameworks. It enables employees to be creative, decisive, and initiative for self-growth. Commitment enables the employee to be down-to-earth to his or her team, company and fellow citizens. One gets the missionary zeal in representing his or her company and company products.

Starbucks needs employees who work in coherence with its target of providing the best possible coffee products to its customers. Additionally, employees must be able to embrace the company’s dreams of sustaining the environment in which they operate. These goals call for commitment, competence, and character. Personal empowerment and encouraging employees to grow is a fundamental way of making them committed to the company’s goals and objectives. It is the duty of each employee to do what the company has asked and pledge to meet whatever support required from the company with a commitment.
Starbucks Company has placed several strategies to align its objectives with actions towards realizing them. First, the company has sales people on the ground to collect views of customers on their products and quality of their services. This enables it to get timely feedback on their progress. In the event of unsatisfactory reaction, the company devises methods of correcting the complaints immediately. It would be detrimental to have dissatisfied client in the market with unresolved woes. The company realizes the significance of ensuring there is a correlation between its perception of customer’s satisfaction and the actual attitude and feelings of the clients about their products and services. This is the chief reason that has made Starbucks invest millions of dollars in market research to ascertain there is no expectation gap. Further, the company has an established and functional Green Team. It has the social responsibility to be mindful of the ongoing on an environmental front. It continuously responds to the issues that have impacts on the environment due to its direct and indirect operations. It adopted an environmental mission in 1992. It takes upon itself to direct its staff and engage them in voluntary services in the community to clean public institutions and facilities. In addition, Starbucks donates funds towards activities that are geared in the direction of environmental conservation. To add on these environmental responsibilities, the company supports development projects in various capacities. It also complies with legal and market requirements of the new markets it captures to maintain socio-legal responsibilities.
