The Best Things In Life: Definitely Not Free
The cherished dream of every human being is surely the life full of happiness, health and success. Everybody strives to obtain these best things, struggling to choose the right path among different life choices. Though these things may seem rather simple at first sight, they are also the most precious in the whole universe. On the one hand, people are never charged for them, so they could be considered absolutely free. On the other hand, they will not unexpectedly drop into the outstretched palms of those who make a wish. Nothing in this world can be achieved without hard work, personal sacrifice, as well as certain amount of resolution and great effort, particularly the best things.
According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs there exists special amount of moral and physical needs without which any human being cannot survive (Wahba, 1976). Family, friendship, success, as well as food, water and health are vital needs that every person longs to possess. This strong human desire stimulates each individual to press for them through toil, time, sweat and tears. Only those who are not afraid to carve their way through various challenges and everyday difficulties will be able to achieve the best attainable things in life.
Happiness is definitely the first example among the many things that are believed to be the best in life. It is not only about pursuing some great intentions, but noticing beauty all over and enjoying every single moment. Happiness is closely connected with the feeling of satisfaction and can be examined through such aspects as the family, working environment, fast friendship and hobby to devote oneself. If these wonderful things were verily free, there would not even exist cases of broken families, indignant and envious workers or insidious faithlessness of friends. The world would resemble an ideal paradise, where journey of happiness never actually ends.
Today’s reality, however, is far from such idyllic haven. In order to come nearer to the desired happiness, people should be willing to commit self-sacrifice and put needs of others before their own. In the family, for example, it means that parents always try to bring joy, at first, to their children and each other and only then think about their own selves. This not only proves the unconditional love, elements of patience and responsibility, but also the everlasting ability to forgive and forget. Thus, happiness is indeed, a demanding and strict master that will only welcome and share with those who are ready to give something in return.
Speaking about health, it is not definitely free at all. Every human being should be very disciplined and pushing to maintain healthy lifestyle and enjoy a body free of pain and illnesses. The health rules include eating the right food, keeping to a diet and regular exercise. Truly speaking, not everyone is able to get accustomed to such severe regimen. It requires a good amount of effort to refrain from certain food or refuse from it at all. Moreover, people should be very pertinacious to work out routinely and stick to the planned goals.
Finally, success is the best thing in life that is extremely difficult to obtain, if one is not ready to toil for it. In order to get the key to success, the person should be determined, courageous and gritty. No matter how twisted, prickly and meandering the road to success could be, the final destination is worth of long hours of travelling. Only self-motivation, perseverance and innovative spirit will open the door of success.
In conclusion, if the best things in life were free, the world would be just a perfect heaven. The fact that people have to struggle for their happiness and press for making their way in the world, strengthen their character and build patient and enduring spirits.
