Genesis
The book of Genesis in the Bible, majorly explains about the origin the Earth and man. It gives a chronological story of how God used six days to come up with the world and all that dwells in it. However, the book of Genesis does not give the historical context of God. It just traces the first words God\ during creation of the Earth and its inhabitants. A reader remains wondering how God came into existence. A super human being, very powerful, is creating human beings in his image. Although this may be true, the book of life does not provide any explanation as to why God created people in his image, and they cannot do things he did. God could command things, and they happened. Human beings who are in his image are sinful in nature. They barely avoid sin; God only gives them a chance to repent and receive forgiveness after they have committed sins. Further, the story of creation contradicts things through the story of the Garden of Eden.
Acts
The book of Acts highlights the Pentecost and stands to explain the effectiveness of Jesus Christ. It stands as a witness to Jesus’ actions in spreading the word of God. The Apostles are the faithful witnesses of Jesus, the Son of God. A Burkean critic would argue for property acquisition as a major pillar behind the development of human beings, rather than the power of the Holy Spirit.
The book of Acts claims that the Holy Spirit empowers, guides, teaches and counsels people in their daily activities. Furthermore, the book of Acts puts emphasis on the obedience of God’s word as the primary development to human beings. Moreover, knowing Christ serves as a transformation for human beings. A Burkean critic believes that the allocation of property stands in the way for social structure. Therefore, property assists in the development of control and determines the hierarchy in society. Further, a Burkean believes that the property dictates natural occurrence of events. Thus, human progress occurs as social changes take place. What is more, the exciting part in the book of Acts is the way Jesus used the word of God to transform things. He disapproves the believe in property as the only way to human development. Consequently, it reinstates the believe in the word of as the only sword in life, to counter life challenges.
