I also love the fact that there is a cultural diversity in people going to this University. We can all learn a lot from each other, about ourselves and about the others. I think that looking at a person's aura and trying to feel their emotions shows that one has empathy and is a communicative person.
Choosing an athlete for "people watch" shows that the person likes sports himself, or at least, that he has opinion about it. In this case you were also doing sports in high school. I think that you described well the impression this athlete's makes.
Another person you chose to describe was Asian. He "glows" and seems happy. That means that you value when people behave well and are content. Their personal serenity is something you notice and that is also something you value as well.
The last person is a girl who dresses different than what is considered usual and socially acceptable. In reality, if she was going to find a job in an office, she would have to change her style. However, I agree with you that a lot of self-confidence is needed to go in public knowing that you will turn heads.
The comment for "Personal adornment people watching"
It is interesting for me that you said that the first person you described is not really an individual, because there are lots of people dressing the similar way to "stand out" from the crowd, so I agree with you that it is not individualistic. I personally think that it might be her taste in clothes. However, she can change her clothes, but the tattoo, if not temporary, is there to stay, so it could be that this person is a rebel of some kind. Both you and I could be a little judgemental and skeptical, but it is hard to analyze a person just by looking at them.
I believe that the second person might be a "hipster" and maybe her outfit is carefully selected. She obviously doesn't want to be "attractive" in the usual sense, but she has some sort of style. Choosing not to comb her hair shows that she is self-confident, but might also mean that she is depressed. I am also a person who values self-confidence and happiness, so that this person doesn't fit into that description at first glance.
The third person is male and wears something that you would wear and you evaluate him positively. I think that you are positively biased. I also believe that this person is an individual because some of his clothes are "mainstream" style. In my opinion, a person is self-confident if they mix "alternative" with "mainstream".
