Music and Ecology might seem rather different majors as they have different goals and require special knowledge. However, even these so diverse majors have a lot in common. Ecology also has its sound, harmony, rhythm and melody, which together create the nature, which is the major object of analysis in Ecology. To prove this fact, this paper will provide a glance at Ecology from the musical perspective.
Being an ecologist means to have an access to the nature’s music. Many people, even those who are not ecologists, say that they enjoy the music of nature is not that an evidence that the connection between Music and Ecology really exists? Nevertheless, it is necessary to provide some bright examples to support this point of view.
When you are somewhere out of the building, especially somewhere in the mountains or anywhere else outdoors, you see the landscape, which might be compared to the musical composition. The landscape has its heights and ravines, which are like the dynamics of Music. Every bird, tree, lake and even air has its sound. These are like the parties of different musical instruments, which together create the unique melody. It is necessary to add that the nature`s composition becomes really different in different periods of the day and in every season.
The light of the sunshine might be bright or muted, as well as volume in the composition. When the volume in music gets muted, it seems that after that it will rise and result in a form of culmination. The same is true for the nature. Ecologists know that is there is a suspicious absence of the general noise, when the birds get quiet and the leaves on the trees stop rustling, it means that all the nature is getting ready to show its temper in all its glory. The nature`s culmination might look toke a rain, a storm, a thunder or even a hurricane.
For some people the sound of birds, trees, wind and animals might seem too noisy. Someone might even call it cacophony. However, if to listen to it for a longer time, it is not so hard to notice that all the variety of sounds complement each other and all these things together create a magnificent symphony with countless melody lines. In addition, every nature`s expression taken separately has its own rhythm, tempo and melody. For instance, even the smallest runnel is an accomplished composition, which runs in a permanent pace. Every falling drop falls no sooner than it is necessary to save the balance of water level. The sound, which is produced as a result of the falling drop, has its own note and volume.
