Collecting qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate quality improvements
When it comes to making assessments in the organizational progress, there is need for one to ensure that there is enough data that can be used to gauge the trends. Such data should be qualitative as well as quantitative. Quantitative data involves the numerical values that provide numerical characters for instance the number of clients served in a day. Qualitative data is non-numerical but gives detailed description. These kinds of data can be collected from the people within the organization especially rom departments such as human resource, auditing and much more.
Significance of evaluation
Evaluation in the organization has some importance because it helps in various ways. It entails the use of the balanced scorecard which helps the top level managers to evaluate the financial viability of the organization through the financial perspective, then there is the customer perspective which helps in assessing value addition on products, then there is internal business perspective that gives direction on goals and the innovation and learning perspective that helps in increasing production (Kapan & Norton, 1992). The scoreboard as an evaluation mechanism helps in improving communication, reporting and even strategic management (Kaplan & Norton, 1996).
Contribution as a nurse-leader manager
As a nurse-leader manager, there are many roles that one can play to ensure that all the goals that have been set in the organization are perfectly met. To build an impressive environment that supports health care, there are 6 specific values that would be used. There will be importance of observing safety to the patients, providing services that are efficient in cost and delivery, the services will need to be effective and patient-oriented and they will also need to be equitable and timely. (Institute of Medicine, 2001).
Importance of measuring outcomes
There are various important points that validate the process of measuring the outcomes. This is something that may be linked to the scoreboard and its importance. When measuring the outcomes, the managers of those who are involved will get the opportunity to plan and ensure that they have come with strategies that are engineered towards achieving the goals. As an example, measuring outcomes enables managers to meet the financial requirements as per the outcomes. It may also enable them to make changes in the service delivery process so as to ensure that there is value added on the products and services(Kaplan & Norton, 1996).
Evaluation tool, its benefits and relevance
One evaluation tool is the Proactive approach. In this approach, the primary goal of the custodian will be on assessing and understanding the needs of the project so that it can be executed. This tool will be necessary in this case because it has many merits. It can help in understanding the progress made in the organization, especially whether the organization has met its goals and the gaps needed to be completed. It is relevant because it can be used in preventing problems at the moment and also in the future.

As a nurse-leader manager, there are myriad ways through which the evaluation results may be used in supporting or achieving the goals that have been set up by the management. It can be used in the elimination of risks and increasing the mitigation strategies towards the possible errors. It may also be used in initiating the process of change that is needed to ensure that the patients are treated well and the organization receives better brand image.
