The Indian economy is an upcoming superpower like China. Mr Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India has made headlines when his party came to power in 2014. He has a very strong and positive persona and is determined to transform India, but starting from the grass root level. It is amazing to see a tea vendor rise to the position of a PM. Mr. Modi recently visited USA in September 2014. He was given a very warm welcome in USA and was no less than a celebrity as crowds followed him wherever he went. His speech in Madison Square Garden, New York is a historic one. The venue was packed with people who had come from all parts of America. The people included many Non Resident Indians (NRI’s); Modi said he was indebted to them for their support. The key phrase that he used was of “Skill Development in India” and “Make in India”; he invited economies to invest in India for manufacturing. I want to interview him because as a leader he does not promise the people to do something big. He says I want to do small things first. Like constructing toilets in villages and cleaning the cities. He was fasting for the five days in America; I was amazed by his stamina and determination as he was only on lemon water. He congratulated the Indians in America for making their country proud.
The speech lauded the Indian software experts, doctors, businessmen and specially the youth who would shape the future of India. India’s maiden mission to Mars was also successful. The three strengths that make India a country to look out for India are its democracy, Indian brain and a large percentage of youth; nothing can stop India from progressing with these things. Good governance is what he wants to offer to the Indians. In his speech he promised to deliver these small things with equal participation from the people.
- What immediate steps would his government take to make India safe for women?
- How can he use the massive population base of 125 crores of India as an asset?
- Why is the “Clean India” project so dear to him?
- Will he be able to revive the nationalist feeling in India once again and how?
- What steps will his government take to tackle terrorism not only in India but worldwide?
He reinstated that India has the power of youth and manpower that the entire world needs. With positive mind and India’s talent base, India is on the path to progress. He invited the people to visit Ahemadabad in India to see what progress is.
