Introduction
In The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams introduces the “Babel Fish”. The narrator describes it as "probably the oddest thing in the universe." Babel Fish is small leech-like yellow thing. This probable oldest thing in the universe feeds on energy brainwaves not derived from its carrier but from carriers around it. For it to nourish itself, it has to absorb all the unconscious frequencies from the energy brainwave. After nourishment, the Babel Fish excretes a telepathic matrix into the mind of its carrier. The telepathic matrix is formed as a combination of the nerve signals picked from speech centers of the brain that is at their supply and conscious thought frequencies. When one sticks the Babel Fish in his or her ear, he or she can instantly comprehend anything that said to her or him in any form of language. The hearing is because of the decode brainwave matrix fed to the mind by Babel Fish (Adams, 59).
The narrator extends to mention more about the devices saying, “When you stick one in your ear, you instantly understand whatever anyone says to you in any language”. The narrator however recognizes that the Babel fish has caused wars in the history of creation. This probably reflects the problems of misinterpretation and misconstruction of information during the process of interpretation because interpretation does not mean communication. Communication is considered complete when information is understood as per the context of communication and situation. As long as the Babel fish will make translation easy, the supremacy of human beings to communicate as free and individualistic agents is incomparable with Babel fish translation (Adams, 59).
Babel fish living on earth clearly brings many contradictions. This proof denies any kind of faith by humans and without faith, there is no presence of God. As we can see, it is impossible and very bizarrely improbable coincidence that such a mind-bogglingly creature can evolve for a long period. This creature is surely the final and clinching proof of non-existence of God. In some point in the novel God, refuse to acknowledge that He exists. "I refuse to prove that I exist” says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing." (Adams, 59) The argument goes further to show how God does not exist in the planet using other things. Babel fish is believed to have lived in the times of dinosaur. During evolution, they survived the harsh condition. Then it would be impossible to have survived for that long time up to date.
Babel fish have superstition that evolution denies presence of God, Who is the creator of Heaven and earth. Presence of this fish tends to prove the ungodly things. It all depends on someone’s judgment and perspective. They have negative impacts on man’s beliefs. The logic of its survival is what pushes man to the corner to believe that God does not exist. It does not make any sense of how they could have evolved. This fish has been used to prove of how people have lost their faith. The whole thing is surely bizarre to faith of man. Although some believe they seize to exist long time ago.
On the other hand, the existence of the Babel fish proves that God exists. It is said that the fish is a small animal that is able to feed himself through the absorption of brainwaves energy to live and nourish. This shows that God exists and is able to make small animals that exist by feeding them. If the small fish is able to sustain itself through brainwaves, it means even those animals, which do not work to survive, are fed by God. God enables those animals to live. Take for example, birds that exist. They are just there in the trees and there is no day they work for their living. They just feed by what man has labored for. If God do not exist these birds could not exists since there is nobody that could feed them. Other wild animals also are able to feed and live because God exists and he is the one who provides them with the food. It is also said that the Babel fish, after nourishing on the unconscious mental frequencies, it is able to excrete into the mind of its carrier then combines with the conscious mind frequencies with the nerve signals and finally into the centers of the brain responsible for speech. This unique character of the fish is useful because it helps a human being. It is said that if someone puts the fish into his or her ear, he or she is able to understand anything in any language. This further proves the existence of God. If such a small animal makes a human being to understand the language that he or she do not belong to, it shows how God is marvelous. This shows that God exists.
If you look critically in the world, all its content and the way things work, it is very evident that there is a supernatural being that controls the universe. It can be said that though God exist but no one has ever seen him, But his presence is always felt. Although we cannot see him with our eyes, we can see the wonders that are accompanied by his creation.
All living things on planet earth are very wonderful. The way these organisms survives is a proof that god always exists. We can say that God is the one who created everything in the universe. Organism evolves to adapt to their new environments. Humans who believe in the existence of god, have always seen him manifest in many different ways. Human that believe in God existence have always had a proof of his existence. The God that they believe in has always worked a miracle in their life. You may be involved in a terrible accident and surprisingly when everybody thinks that no one survived you get one person surviving.
The people who denied or challenged God existence have always ended up in big trouble. For example, the engineer who built the Titanic ship when he was asked how safe his ship was, he sarcastically said that it is very safe that even God himself cannot sink it. The fate of titanic ship was that it sunk and people lost their lives. This should be a lesson that everyone should adopt. God controls the universe and all the things that are in it. Therefore, although we cannot see God physically to prove his existence we can see and appreciate his presence through his wonders. There are many phenomena that science is unable to explain but they are there. A good example is the barmuder triangle no one has been able to explain where the force originates. In philosophy, we call it cosmic physic that is only controlled by supernatural power. This may act as a proof of a supernatural being.
