The role of the human resource sergeant has a direct impact on the status of the Soldiers in terms of their assignment, qualifications, financial and career progression. The main role of human resource in a common organization is to hire, train and develop staff and deal with the discipline them and even dismiss. The human resource management is responsible for training and development of employees. The role of human resource in the army can also be associated with the ordinary organization. The professional human resource has been changed in order to meet the needs of the army. The human resource sergeant continuous improvement of the army is to ensure that high level service and support to the soldiers whether they are in the field or in the base stations. The human resource management in the army is aimed at improving the planning process and decentralizing services. The human resource management initially was treated as a separate entity in the army. Currently the service of the human resource sergeant is being integrated in the Arm Personnel Life Cycle Model which is acquiring the force and provides personnel support and services to Soldiers.

This is measured in terms of effective manning, sustaining military operations across the full spectrum of conflict. The human resource department offers support to the army by building, generating and sustaining the army in their operations. The human resource team is able to provide support to the soldiers depending on the level of operation. The human resource sergeant is supposed to play their role based on the laid down rules and regulations. The regulations of the US army are very clear and human resource sergeant operates within those regulations.
Human resource offers strategic support. The strategic support of the human resource sergeant includes a national-level planning, resourcing, managing and controlling the human resource management life cycle functions of the Army. The human resource sergeant integrates its activities with the activities of the entire Army functionality.
Human resource sergeant also offers operational and tactical support. The policies developed by human resource sergeant are translated into action at the operational and tactical levels. The role of the Sergeant in the United States Army Profession of Arms is to offer customer service. This is a critical role which also has a great impact on the status of the Soldiers.
After hard work and great effort of the soldiers they are rewarded, it is the role of the human resource sergeant to organize the awards and decorations. These are programs that enable the Army to recognize the Soldiers and the DoD with tangible items and achievements. The military regulations AR 600-8-22 have recognized the awards and decorations. The chain of commands should be followed in the process of ensuring that awards and decoration are approved. Awards can be given to individuals or to a unit. The unit awards are announced by the commanders who are authorized.
Promotions are another function of the human resource sergeant in the United States Army Profession of Arms. The rules and steps that guide the Army’s promotion and reduction systems are laid down. Promotion can be done in a centralized, semi-centralized or at the unit level. The HR managers involved in the promotion process are a live to the fact that there are different policies and laws within each rank and sections of the Army.
Currently the HR systems have incorporated the payment system. The human resource sergeant has a critical role to play in the Army of the United States. The support of the human resource sergeant depends on the mission of the Army.
