The link between culture and motivation is very important in the way individuals behave and perform their daily activities. The principles and values of an organization or individual influence the levels of motivation and how individuals perform their day to day activities in an organization. Cultural norms, values and beliefs, play an important role in influencing the behaviors of individuals and how they approach various situations or activities in life.
The organizational cultures that encourage the employees to work on their own help in boosting the performance of an organization. On the other hand, if the individuals are not engaged in the culture of an organization, they may have a negative attitude towards the organization leading to a decrease in the performance (Caballero, 2013:16). This is because the individuals feel free to interact with the environment in carrying out their activities. Organizational culture, therefore, has a direct influence on the performance of employees in an organization.
Culture also has an impact on social structures, artistic and intellectual manifestations in the society. It, therefore, influences how people interact in the society, creating success and beliefs on others. This has an impact on the general levels of motivation in an organization. Culture resides in the minds and hearts of individuals making it very influential tool on the behavior and performance of individuals.
