Final DBC
The entire course gave me a rich learning experience in which I was able to develop my research and writing skills greatly. Completing all the three projects was a tasking undertaking that required high levels of discipline and commitment. I often found myself tasked with very stressing assignments; however, with self-motivation, I successfully complete all projects. Despite the challenges, I do not regret the experience with the projects because the exposure has substantially equipped me with essential skills that will be of great benefits in the future.
The assignment that I found to be most interesting is project 2. I found the project’s design to be unique and interesting. Initially, the project exposed as to various persuasive texts customized for different audiences. It was interesting to learn why these texts appealed to a particular audience but not the other. This offered the learner a great deal of developing knowledge on how to author enticing and great works that can easily communicate the intended message to desired audience. One important thing that I learned in relation to this undertaking is ensuring that you understand your audience’s situation and interest before writing your work (King and Graham 60). I good writer should initially conduct a background review of his or her audience to ensure that the work authored accounts or responds to the audience’s interests (Greenhall 68).
Furthermore, working as a team to develop to complete a common project was a very interesting experience. The project demanded us to divide the entire project into sections, where each member was supposed to work on the assigned part independently. I was curious see a piece of work that we could have developed after summing the independent ideas of each member of our group. In essence, this was interesting because the exercise enabled one to compare his or her writing with those of others. Through this, the learner could easily establish his strengths and weaknesses, thus strategizing on the way forward.
The Most Challenging Project
I found Project 1A & B to be the most challenging out of the three projects. I struggled a lot to complete project 1A &.B. This could be because the project was my first writing exercise. I faced challenges in drafting this work because initially I lacked confidence about my writing ability. I doubted my capability of drafting a presentable piece of work as I had not done this in my earlier undertakings. However, I was surprised that I was greatly talented in research and writing because, besides the struggle, I produced one of the best works that were commended in the class. As I familiarized with writing, I became confident in my writing skills, thus I did not felt much challenged when tackling the assignments that followed— Project 2 and Project 3A, B & C. It is through this experience, that I acknowledge the significance of embracing confidence and practice in writing, as these are essential in improving the writer’s performance (Blake 135).
Moreover, the part two of the Project 1A & B demanded the writer to internalize his or her experience when doing the first assignment and compare the experience with the sentiments raised by Hampl in her article, “Memory and Imagination.” This was a challenging undertaking that required a critical mind to successfully connect the writing experience with the scholar’s argument. One needed to visualize the writing experience from different perspectives to understand and argue the scholar’s position comprehensively. Besides, the exercise challenged the writer to embrace high creativity and expertise to develop succinct and coherent arguments that would support his or her position.
The Project That Taught Me Most
The assignment that taught me the most is Project 3A, B &C. Initially, the project taught more how to engage in focused research to source the intended information. Evidently, the project took the learner though a step-by-step procedure for searching and sorting the findings. For example, when locating the company that the student would envision to work for in the future, the assignment required the learner to first search and identify three companies. Out of the three companies identified, the learner was supposed to use the provided preliminary evaluation to sort two companies. Finally, one was supposed to narrow the search and eliminate one company to remain with only one. The procedure creates curiosity that makes the learner develop a desire of engaging further in the process to establish the result. This is a very educative procedure that develops one’s research skills in a great way. The significance of the practice cannot be challenges since having good research skills is a central trait for good writing (Bram 48).
The project also provides a rich learning experience as it challenges the learner to think of his or her future in the career world. In particular, I was able to think of career and learnt how to develop my portfolio. This was a strategic learning experience that prepared me for successful career search after completing my course. In summary, the course was thoughtfully designed to offer a great learning experience, thus empowering learners to improve their research and writing skills while preparing them to explore their careers in the future.
