I must have heard music way much earlier than I can remember, but what comes to mind was when I was around three years old, I used to listen to music fro my dad’s audio system. He used to play music in the morning as he prepared to go to work, and my older siblings ready to leave for school.
Over the years, I have grown to love and appreciate various types of music, though my favorite genre is house music. This kind of music is great and originated from Chicago in 1980s. It is classified as electronic music and typically put together by music producers and DJs. The music is somehow derived from trance music, with some elements of techno infused. The examples of the pioneers of this genre of music are Kym Mazelle and Frankie Knuckles. Currently, Calvin Harris is known to produce great house music pieces over the past years to date, for instance, he produced ‘’My way’’ in 2016. In the same year, he produced “This is what you came for” with Rihana, and the song was a favorite of many house music lovers through the last year. There are obviously other artists who are doing the same genre, such as Mi-casa of South Africa with their song called “ these streets”, amongst others
My reaction to music is always passionate. I appreciate every single sound produced and I do go to the precise detail of the lyrics associated with the instrumentation. I believe that music is a great language, communicated and understood by different people across the world. Music relaxes me. It takes me to a place that nothing else does – where there are peace and relaxation. At times, it sets me free, to dance, sing along and hum. Music allows me to rejuvenate as it peps me up. It gives me the psyche to continue living. Above all, the fact that nowadays it is so easy to share music makes it a great channel of communication. My friends regularly receive great new music whenever something recent comes up. I love music, and I suppose it loves me back. As such, I listen to music daily. I cannot remember a day that passed without listening to music.
