Our organization has been subdivided through the identification of social stratum. This means that the organization as a whole has been subdivided into groups of individuals who play various roles within the organization. Each of the individuals in these groups is vital for the good running and continued existence of the organization. As a group, the organization has a sense of cohesion and use of rules, which is highly encouraged. Both formal and informal organization is applied in this organization while maintaining a diverse nature in the organization (Wang, 2005). Formal organization is practiced here because many people are socialized into the culture through formal means. However, through the formal mechanisms of the organization, new values, attitudes and behavior are imposed in to the organization. In this connection, the informal structures of this organization are a product of the organization’s actual culture. The informal structures within the organization involve the structures, goals and activities and other issues, which are not officially recognized.
For large organizations like this, culture is based to some extend on the values and preferences of the members of the organization. While formal leaders are directly involved in the running of the organization, the informal leaders do not have direct connection with the running of the organization (Wang, 2005). The formal leaders have authority and can influence others in order to attain the goals and objectives of the organization. The organization ensures that there is gender equality and this helps to ensure that each gender is represented well in the organization. The organization in the present study is a healthcare institution. This healthcare institution is involved in the provision of medical attention to the people in the society. This shows that the institution is an essential social institution for the well-being of those in the society.
Importance of healthcare organizations
This healthcare organization is a crucial social institution, which determines the health of the people in the society. Healthcare institutions help in the making of decisions regarding human health. This is because, the people in charge of the organization discuss and set ethical standards within the community and these standards enable people to remain healthy. The people living within the community are bound by the ethical standards set by those running the healthcare organization (Stephen, 2010). In addition, the healthcare organization is also important because it will set health principles, which will guide people’s behavior thus promoting good health. The other importance of the healthcare organization is that it provides patient care to the sick people in the village. The sick people in the community require healthcare, which is readily available in the healthcare organization.
This is because, the organization has healthcare officers, health facilities and medications which help in providing patient care to the sick people. Another importance of this organization is that it provides advice to the community members and this helps ion prevent the spread and contraction of various diseases (Stephen, 2010). It is through the advice offered by the health practitioners that the community enjoys reduced spread of the contagious diseases. The organization offers public support to the community members by setting ethical standards. Members of the community may not uphold high ethical standards without the support they get from the healthcare organization. It is therefore necessary to ensure that the members of the community have trust of the healthcare organization in order to benefit from its services. The healthcare organization is also involved in research, which is aimed at improving healthcare services in the community. This proves the organization very useful in the society. Good health among the people in the community is essential because it contributes to improved economic growth (Stephen, 2010).. This is because, healthy people are able to work efficiently and enable the community in improving its productivity. As a result, this health care organization is a socially responsible social institution, which helps to ensure a healthy, and community and increased productivity.
Thoughts in relation to how the organization fits and interacts within the greater social structure
Social institutions are very essential because they help in the good operation and running of the community. The healthcare organization is an inevitable social institution, which are mandatory in the society. This is because, the community cannot operate well without the services of the healthcare organization (Karen, 2009). In order to offer excellent healthcare services to the members of the community, the organization should have qualified staff who will be in a position to play all the its duties efficiently. It should also have a good representation of all the genders in order to ensure that there is no gender, which feels left out in the operation and management of the organization. In addition, the organization’s staff should also be diversified in order to accommodate the diverse people in the community. Once the organization is staffed with the right personnel, it will maintain its good services to those in the community (Karen, 2009). The healthcare organization will protect the lives of people from diseases and help in making sure that there is improved productivity from the healthy community. In this connection, the healthcare organization is a crucial social institution, which fits and interacts with the community in an appropriate manner.
