Idea 1
The first idea is to use PAR for studying the adaptation of climate change in China.
China is one of the greatest contributors of greenhouse gases and it would be helpful to perform a community study of one of the major Chinese cities such as Shanghai or Beijing.
The idea is to understand the adaptation people in the Chinese city to problems of climate change by emphasizing on the participation of the sample. The key components of the PAR project would be focusing on change, emphasis on collaboration of community, and context specific. The goal is to develop a common knowledge among target population about Climate Change, especially among people who are unaware. The success of the project is based on social change resulting from the project as people are made aware of the impact of Climate Change. Social change will be studied through a proportionate change in behaviour of sample and their increased efforts to conserve the environment. The topic of the project would be -- Application of PAR (participatory action research) to adaptation to climate change in China.
Idea 2
The second idea is to explore the possibility of accident prevention among a sample of alcohol consumers. The sample for the study would be at least a highly populated city of the world such as New York, New Delhi or Tokyo. The basic idea is to conduct participatory action research through a project that focuses on reducing the number of accidents where one of the people involved was intoxicated. The project would aim at creating knowledge about the issue of accident prevention through avoidance of drunk driving. The success of the project is dependent on the reduction of accidental cases of cases drunk drivers. The topic of the project would be – Utilization of PAR for accident prevention among Alcohol consumers.
