Introduction
Peach blossom fan film was based on the legendary play of Kong Shangren in Qing dynasty. The story talks about a love story which happened in late Ming dynasty. The film was produced and released in 1963. The princess in the film is known as Li Xiangjun and she fell in love with Hou Chaozong. In the process of blossoming their love, Hou Chaozong gave a token of a peach blossom fan to the princess. The two did not see each other for eight years and when they met, the princess came to notice that Hou Chaozong was a member of the Qing dynasty officially.
The princess is considered a heroine in our text. This is because she was ready and always there to stand with her country and she never rushed to betray their country like her lover. Hou Chaozong had betrayed the country by merging with the Qing dynasty and he never put the interest of their country at heart. The princess is a heroine as she was not ready to support the actions of her lover and she becomes angry and tears apart the token of peach blossom fan into smaller pieces. The event angers her so much that she broke up with her lover and she decides to became a nunny and stay independent of Hou Chaozong.
The princess is a heroine since she was not ready to receive the expensive clothes that were sent to her because a lot of corruption and mistrust of the politician of the dynasty. The princess is a heroine since she fought for the rights of the oppressed in the society claiming that human beings were equal and subject to the law. Her efforts led to prisoners and slaves to be freed from the jail and be left free.
