Introduction
This is the report that I submitted to the director of food pantry. The report covers the following areas of the food pantry organization: economic situation, special needs of the population, benefits of food pantry program and the processes involved in the program.
The economic situation is designed to ensure that all the activities cover the targeted areas. The program aims at constructing a kitchen that will be in a position to provide more than 50,000 meals to the population in every month. There are funds that are allocated to ensure that the program satisfies the set standards of public health.
The special needs of the population involve health and nutritional awareness of the community and the provision of a balanced diet to the needy individuals. It also aims at reaching the disabled and the old individual in the target population. The poor communities are sensitized about the need of having a proper diet and on matters about personal hygiene and cleanliness.
The program entails the following processes: construction of a community kitchen distribution of the food to the old and poor individual, sensitization and awareness building, giving information and manuals about the program and setting standards that are required by the public health department.
The pantry food program has a lot of benefits. The program makes the affordability and access of a balanced diet in reach, the disadvantaged groups are also assured of food access, the program sensitizes the community and they are set in a position to take responsibility of their health by maintaining higher standards of personal hygiene. The community is healthy and the conditions associated with poor feeding and malnutrition is eliminated at the community level.
