The Red Convertible Critical Thinking

It was difficult to rehabilitate Henry because most of the time he was always quiet and was never able to stay still in one place. He was never settled and was always up and about making it had for Lyman to rehabilitate them. It was difficult for any rehabilitation efforts to succeed because the only time Henry could stay still was when he was watching television. As he watched the television, he concentrated on it too much making it impracticable for anyone to approach him.
Henry had also developed violent behavior that resulted from the experiences he had during the Vietnam War. There was no time that Henry was at ease. His family could not take him to the hospital because they believed that the facilities would not fix the problem, and instead would subject him to unnecessary medication.
When Henry left for the war he was a jovial man and in good physical shape. At this time, the red convertible was also in good shape and they had used it to travel across the country during the summer. However, when Henry came back from Vietnam, he had changed. He was no longer as jovial as he had been before the war. Just about this time the red convertible was also not in good shape after Lyman destroyed it intentionally in order to get Henry active.
On the other hand, Lyman recovers from a tornado that had destroyed his food joint. He gets on with his life just like the red convertible comes back to a good shape after Henry repairs it. Eventually, the convertible drowns in the river just like Henry. It was hard to rehabilitate Henry because he had lost hope and could not see the need for it.
