Tourism is one of the world’s largest industries which is continuously developing year by year. It has turned out to be a very significant industry in our modern society. As today is the century of well-developed technologies, tourism is getting promoted rapidly. Tourism is an important pillar of almost every country’s economy. Nowadays, all people tend to spend their free time travelling, and all of them have a great opportunity to do it without any effort. Some people consider tourism as a hobby, for some people it is a job. However, many of us travel just to spend our time more exciting.
All countries in the world have separate ministries of tourism, which advance the tourism in their own countries and develop the intercultural communication between countries. There is a great interaction between people from different countries, races, religions, communities, regions and cultures. All people try to develop tourism in order to attract people from all over the world. Many people travel for various purposes. For example, for some of them it is an entertainment, some people want to travel to enhance their knowledge in definite field, and businessmen visit other countries to promote their business. Also, journalists, newspaper agencies, radio and T.V. Reports and anchormen travel just to gather some interesting information and for other reporting purposes. Development of tourism is not limited to increasing the number of hotels, restaurants, and other such facilities, rather it has far more to do with creating the culture of tourism and the way it is perceived by the people. I would like to say that today's media also play one of the most important roles in the development of more sustainable forms of tourism. Media communications technologies are imperative for Frontline investments for sustainable globalized tourism development indicators.
First of all, it becomes more and more important in spheres like social interaction, and cultural and educational aspects of our life. It is where people first find out about where to travel. I can even say that the tourism industry is growing because of the media. We all know that media includes all television, radio, newspaper, magazines and Internet. Tourists firstly hear or see about the destinations from the Internet, television or various magazines. They find out more information about those countries, which they would like to visit. I think that an advertisement is the greatest way to attract people from all over the world. Furthermore, it is the most profitable way to improve the tourism of the country and take it to a new higher level. They can see from the advertisements from different sources, only after that they seek specialist assistance to decide on the accommodation, travel arrangements, tour guide support etc. Media contributes immensely towards achieving this objective. It can help people to feel more calm and confident about their journey. Moreover, knowing more about the place you are going to visit helps you to organize your time in a proper way, and plan your travel in advance, which is also useful if you are for the first time in that country. I think it is one of the biggest advantages of media concerning travelling. Furthermore, using the Internet gives you a great chance to follow your journey by your own. For example, you can easily choose a hotel, book a room, reserve a table in a restaurant and order food directly to your room. It can give you an opportunity to organize your travel as you want. You can even buy a ticket from the Internet without somebody’s help. In my opinion, one of the main benefits of it that you can save your money or spend less than instead of paying to travel agencies, which cannot always be reliable. Media has become an integral part of our life that influences almost everything we do. Media is no longer confined to one way communication. Using new technologies and social media, we can easily communicate and interact with each other anywhere on the earth instantly. Nowadays, in our society, there are no barriers in information, thanks to the media explosion.
Secondly, the influential effects of the media communications technologies can fade on Africa with impetuous alteration of attitudes and behavior between the key factors in global and national tourism for security, peace and sustainable development. The cultural, economic, political, social and environmental advantages of tourism would accompany in historical and monumental changes in the African Union. The media are socially responsible to enhance the mixing of national, international and local cultural importance for enriched society, politics and the economy in Africa. Public communications policy based on access to better information and knowledge will bring the new global tourism partnership for Africa. This strategy includes the planned communication unit of programs, which are intended to change the attitudes and behavior of specific groups of people in some ways through mass media, interpersonal communication, community communication or traditional media. It aims at the transfer of services and the interface among beneficiaries and service deliverers, where people are authorized to by informed choice, motivation, education and facilitation effecting the planned changes. This can be brought into action by media information aiming all key stakeholders, who is actively involved in the tourism industry. Effective usage of communication techniques can promote and barriers better use joint message design, which combines both modern and traditional media.
In my opinion, it is important that we understand that media today is a far more complex subject. For example, social media such as Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter, mobile blogs are also modern media, which are widely used among Internet users. I would like to say that they are also a convenient way of promoting tourism. I can say that traditional media such as television, newspapers, and magazines encourage people to travel. For example, we see different beautiful places from various films and serials, which inspire us to visit that place. Different travelling programs, which show different cultures from all over the world, their food, their sights, beautiful places to visit and their way of living, encourage us to go to that country in order to see all of that things with your own eyes. While watching a beautiful movie which shows great sights of that city, we just start dreaming about. That is why the media is also a great way to promote tourism and many countries are still developing their tourism industry by making films. The best examples of those countries can be the USA, France, Italy, India, and others.
Today’s travelers are virtually able to travel different places at the touch of a finger, communicate with distant places on their way to the office and design custom-built adventures through simple online platforms. By declining to associate with and captivate this virtual audience, many tourism agencies are fighting an uphill battle. Then, they stop marketing and start marketing with a purpose. With the uncorrect combination of tourism marketing strategies, technology, and tools, your travel business will not able to find possible clients, and even more importantly, those potential clients cannot find you. The Tourism industry includes a great number of local, small enterprises that work in an more and more competitive setting. At the top of the industry includes global tourism conglomerates, which provide the world market with accommodation, transport, travel arrangement services and entertainment. Some of these large operators earn annual revenue in the tens of billions of dollars serving the Global Tourism. As tourism improvement has slowed in advanced economies over the past years, many of the large tourism operators have shifted their focus towards meeting demand in emerging economies.
