How the teachers’ professional skills relate to the NAEYC standards for Early Childhood Professional Preparation
- Promoting Child Development and Learning
According to Piaget, child development and learning involves understanding how children’s mind work and develop towards the understanding of their world. As a result, teachers apply their professional skills such as creation of environments that are supportive, respectful, healthy and challenging for each learner to promote children growth and development. In addition, teachers use their skills to understand children needs and characteristics.

Ways through which teachers interact with the children in the classroom
- Classroom discussions
There are various behaviour I found interesting and inspiring from my teacher. First is positive mental attitude. My teacher was talking more positively about all class issues and less negatively. In addition, sense of humour is another behaviour I found interesting and inspiring from my teacher. The sense of humour kept us moving through the lesson. Furthermore, my teacher was respectful to all the students thus inspiring me to build a sense of respect to others. Other behaviours include empathy, open to change, and creative.
Philosophy Program
Thoughts about the program’s educational philosophy/mission statement
My thoughts about program’s education philosophy revolve around how it works. For instance, I have an opinion that, program’s education philosophy should make concrete interpretations, criticism and make correct reconstruction of ideas and arguments with reference to the mission statement. Nevertheless, I also think that it should providing meanings and values through provision of ideas and arguments.
How the program is working to fulfill their mission statement.
The philosophy program plays a great role in integrating philosophical strategies to ensure the fulfilment of the mission statement. For instance, it allows for the provision of ideas from various stakeholders thus creates a room for arguments on the ideas provided. In so doing, the best ideas that match with the mission statement come to existence and thus implemented. As a result, the fulfilment of the mission statement succeeds.
