The US is experiencing a wave of increasing long life span, while the rate of fertility keeps going down. This situation is anticipated to create a nation with an aging population. Longer lives will provide better opportunities for people to triumph, but at the same time aging comes with diseases. How well is the US prepared for the health of the aging? The aging promises triumph, but the health care for the aged must be the priority.
The United Sates as a nation is not well prepared for the aging population. The aging require an organized and elaborate healthy system, while what the government is doing at the moment is just providing the finance for health care. It does not work to build a healthy system that will deal with the diseases that occur at an old age. The current health care system does not enable for following up of patients. Patients keep moving from one doctor to another without successful treatment. There would be triumph of aging only if the government created a healthy system that considers the health care of old people.
The US economy provides for more dollars for health care, but does not spend much on scientific research for a breakthrough on the diseases affecting the aging population. It only concentrates on building of more nursing homes, rather than breaking from the past and create an efficient health care. If the US is to triumph out of its aging population, it should restructure its healthy system in the coming ten years.
Self responsibility on individual should be exercised. People care less about their parents as well as children posing a great threat to their health. People don’t engage in exercise activities, and believe in junk food. These are the sources of diseases at old age. The government should be prepared to offer financial help to the aging population if triumph is to be achieved in the future. Education should be availed for the young people to save on their future.
In conclusion, there will be triumph of aging only if the government created a healthy system that considers the health care of old. Self responsibility on individual health should be considered. There should be investments for the future, and educating the young people should be prioritized in preparedness of aging.
