The Turkey Who Wanted To Fly Essay Sample

Once there was a group of turkeys which grew in the mountains. One of those turkeys are different for it admired the eagles while the other turkeys are busy minding their business, pecking on the ground. The special turkey would often look at eagles flying freely in the sky, above the clouds. He would raise his head, look at those eagles, and wonder what it would feel to fly high. Days after days passed and the turkey grew more and more interested with flying. He would try jumping from the ground and flapping his wings, but to no avail, he could not lift himself up. He started asking around if the other turkeys would want to learn how to fly. Apparently, he was the only one interested in flying. All the other turkeys he talked to just laughed at his ambition to fly. They said he might as well just be contented with pecking on the ground. The turkey became sad. One morning, as he was on his way to the cliff of the mountain to watch the eagles, he saw a group of eagles gathered together. He courageously approached them and asked if they could teach him how to fly. The eagles were too happy to teach him. They taught him all the techniques that he needed in order to fly. It took them two days to finish the “flying lesson.” While that was happening, the other turkeys noticed that he was missing and they began to search for him. When they looked for him near the cliff, they saw him with the eagles. “Hey! What are you doing with them?” shouted the other turkeys. That was the time when the eagles are bidding him goodbye and saying final words to their student turkey. After the final words, the eagles flew away. The turkey looked at the other turkeys who was still shouting at him and who looked angry. “What have you been doing?! We thought you were missing! Come with us and let us WALK home!” The turkey looked at the eagles who were already high up in the clouds and walked towards his fellow turkeys. “I’m sorry, let us walk home,” he said.
