In today’s competitive environment where education has moved beyond the traditional sphere, the UCEAP Program offered by the Keio University in Tokyo explores the vast and growing field of Psychology. I have successfully completed a two year course in Psychology from a community college majoring in Psychology. I am passionate about pursuing a profession that utilises the diverse psychological streams. Growing up in Japan has acquainted me with the culture and society but only on a superficial level; the UCEAP course at the Keio University would give me an opportunity to imbibe the rich culture and values of Japan. Being a Korean, living in Japan I am fascinated by the influential combination of the two cultures.

Being a determined and hard working individual I have made persistent efforts to learn about the Japanese heritage from friends and peers in Japan. Their inputs have strengthened my aim of pursuing further education in Japan. The UCEAP program is an international forum of education; I will get an opportunity to interact and communicate with International and native students. The very fact that the entire process would enrich me not only professionally but personally too makes me more determined. Keio University has personalised courses in Psychology with interesting options like Behaviour Modification, Clinical Psychology, Economic Psychology and Organisational Theory. The course is conducted in smaller batches in comparison to other universities to give personalised attention to students to adapt to the challenging international environment.
Proactive educators like Professor Umeda at the Keio University make learning an enriched and interesting process full of practical examples as it teaches students to apply the theoretical concepts in the real world. I have keenly followed all his enlightening discourses and articles. I am enthusiastic about putting in hours of hard work and managing my current academic pursuits with the above course. I am seeking assistance from native friends to improvise my Kanji so that I am well prepared to attend the program. Japan is one of the leading countries that have the best industrial mechanism worldwide. It has set an example for the world in terms of effective utilisation of resources and time management. I hope to learn these attribute from the Japanese culture and complement them with my Korean roots. I wish to became a successful professional and utilise my academics in the international arena; USA is one them. In the age of globalization where organizations have employees worldwide; Kieo University will give me an edge through its practical, experimental and international program.
