The Way Environment Affects People Essay

Nowadays in the epoch of changes people have to deal with new challenges and nature disasters. Maybe the biggest and well know problem today is Global Warming. It is transmitted by the news everyday that glaciers are melting every day. What does it mean for an average man? On the one hand, a guy will say that this is just propaganda, nonsense, etc but on the other hand it is easy to see how these changes will affect everyone.
It is not a secret that the biggest reserves of the fresh water are in the permafrost. And what does the Global Warming do? The Global Warming destroys these reserves of water by simply melting. The fresh water simply drains into the open sea. This problem also causes the increase of price for fresh water everywhere in the world. In order to solve the problem different governments have already adopted regulations prohibiting having shower for a period longer that 15 minutes. And that is just a Global Warming. Unfortunately, there is one more stage of affecting humans by Global Warming. Global Warming also causes Sea Level Rise.
Sea Level Rise is even more critical problem because the results are visible for everyone. It is said in scientific researches that in some hundred years some islands and peninsula will go down the water and what is the most troublesome is that we can’t really do anything. This means that thousands and even millions of people will lose their homes, motherlands. They will be looking for a new place but who is to take care of them?
Simply speaking the Global Warming is caused by the increase of the share of CO2 in the air. The necessity of planting more and more trees is one more effect of the Environment on people. But Global Problems do be solved requires the cooperation of whole international community. And that is one more problem. The more people we want involve the more difficult it would be to negotiate and the more time it would take us.
And that is the biggest trouble in relation to the Global Problems. In most cases separate efforts of one state wouldn’t lead to resolving while world community seems to be so motionless.
Some more important problems are catastrophes and disasters. Within the definition of catastrophes and disasters we may include Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Landslides, Overflows and Tsunamis. This type of problem is standing behind the door. To tell the truth, there are some regions of the Earth where you just go to bed waiting for something bad to happen. One doesn’t have to think more to remember Japan, unbelievable Tsunami and nuclear power plants. In this regard some politicians and journalists say that people are just parasites and that Earth can no more stand us and is trying to overthrow the Mankind. The researches show that the number of such cataclysms rises every year and every month.
One more environmental problem affecting people is ozone holes. Ozone holes are caused, as well as some previous problems, by the work of cars, plants, factories and any fire in general. These ozone holes affect our health. When talking of health we mean our skin. Because of these holes solar emission affects people. The diseases caused by such solar emission are better not mentioned at all.
It is said in legends and myths that some 1000 years ago one to heal his wounds just had to powder his wound with some ground. And what do we have today? Should one powder his wounds with some ground he will surely die in few days because of blood infection.
In order to sum up it should be emphasized that people have created most of their problems themselves and today to deal with them they have to unite. People are trying to unite and such concepts as Sustainable Development and international conferences is good evidence that we are trying to do something. But will we manage to solve all our problems, is the question to be answered.
