A thematic issue may be regarded as an avenue to create a discussion. It may reflect on different areas depending on the specifications of a topic. In our case we shall embark on a thematic issue in regards to my learning experience on the period of my study. Quite a number of themes have resulted from our study so far. I will dwell on one side of it which is the technological issue. We applied technology in various areas during the study period.
The issue in question plays a major role in a student’s general output or rather life at large. Its application will therefore trigger various sections in relation to various aspects of our school life. The said aspect may lie in academic turnover and also our overall social output in class. But my main aspect of technology application is based on the positive output of it. Applying technology in our day to day ventures in class has proved to be a factor that adds value to our life. By gaining the knowledge or rather the knowhow, we can then claim to have improved our life in school.
Some of our work in class required us to use the computer lab. By basically using applications such as Google search in finding information required, I would cluster it as a step in applying the technology positively. After gaining the insight during the class period, we can there for prompt our quest in learning some more at home using our computers. So basically resource such can be enhanced by this (McGhee & Kozma 9).
I realized that this thematic issue in its broader term had a place in every aspect of our life. It would be revealed that its exposure as experienced by other students apart from me became an integrated theme in their school life. Each we make use of our students' laptops, printers and smart boards. We also use our phones in accomplishing some areas. As some might not notice its impact other than making work easier, need to fully utilize its potential of this awesome field is important. Some teachers also use presentations such as power points in a class period to teach. That’s another aspect of applying technology.
As its various positive learning applications in our homes might pass others, here at school the on start of gaining experience in its integration in our classes would be the first time we visit the labs for research purpose. In these first periods of technology integration, we gain the various ways to perform various tasks using different software’s in the computer. Its learning curve is dependent upon an individual strife to excel. Hence it’s upon us to go and familiarize with this aspect of technology further in our homes. I will be correct to mention that on the basis of educational excellence, applying technology in the manner mentioned above has no limits. We keep on gaining new and important methods of applying it in our academic works.
Technological application applied in class integration brought emerging issues. Some of the issues can be a need for technical support. Some software’s or connections involving electronic devices would require skills. I not been an expert found it a bit hard to apply my skills. In the same manner of connecting devices that I would want to use brought challenges that I couldn’t solve. They required someone with the skills to come and help me do it (Åkerlind &Trevitt 98).
There are also challenging brought in terms of accessing the computers themselves. Having others also doing their research, I would have to wait. So the availability of enough devices was the issue in this case. On occasions where a whole class would visit getting enough or rather a device proved to be challenge here at school (McGhee & Konzma 4).
Another problem that arose from the issue itself revolving around my class was the verse availability of software that were available. So it would require some time for students to understand. Some even tend to look alike well their applications differed but the manner in which they are operated was similar. At times I had to get everything I needed from the computer before operating it. It would give me easy time not get mixed up in with the many applications it has (McGhee & Kozma 5)
Lastly an issue that came up was the period it took. Well in this case the problems are quite technical, depending on the device I use. Each brought out different problems such as they could stop instantly. Hence the little skill I had to be self directed came through for me (Åkerlind &Trevitt 98). It would come with its negative effects as well. The internal at large would bring its hurdles as well. Some would use information from the net to somewhat weigh themselves in terms of how witty they are and some would go to the extent of weighing their physical attributes. This will tend to build up low self esteem among the user. Hence proper use is advocated.
Hence deducing from the work, the theme brought out some others that has enhanced my learning experience in the class and educational journey so far. I have developed and enhanced myself as an educator on how to apply this theme positively. In turn it will extend to my fellow students when they see my current technological skills.
