In the context of Functional perspective,each and every aspect of the society contributes independently to the general functioning of the society or community.The government plays an important role in provision of services like security,education and health facilities to its citizens.The citizens also plays an important role in payment of taxes in order to facilitate the activities provided by the government.The state therefore runs through the efforts of both the government and the citizens making a functional unit.This spirit of combining effort will nurture children who are law abiding as well as tax paying citizens to their country and this will generally help support the state.This theory is basically based on social consensus where individuals works together to facilitate all the activities of the society as a whole.This theory is based on both mechanical solidarity and organic solidarity as proposed by Emile Durkheim.This perspective therefore fits the macro human behavior concerning the general interest of the society as a whole.
The theory that relates to practice is the conflict theory because it entails allocation of the scarce resources between individuals.This theory presents and shows the way different individuals struggle in making their ends meet.This is a true reflection of the economic bit of the society in meeting their daily wants with the use of scarce resources available.This theory also clearly shows the income inequalities or distribution between individuals in the society.It also focuses more on a way to reduce the wealth gap between individuals in the society.Conflict is mainly found on the conflicting principles relating to gender,race or religious perspectives which are common in the society.The competition among individuals in the society is the main reason for the dynamic nature of the society.
