Statistics has it that the cruise line industry is the fastest growing in the sector of leisure in the tourism, travel and hospitality industries (Jr Brent et al 240). There has been a growth rate of 2100% between 1970 and 2006. Moreover, 68% of the cruises that have been taken have existed for a decade (Jr Brent et al 241). The industry undergoes a 7% growth rate annually. I choose the Norwegian cruise lines ; I feel that it will attract more people because billing itself a ‘freestyle’ cruise line, with regard to dining and was the pioneer to swerve from the two-set dining times tradition(Jr Brent et al 241). As opposed to other cruise lines, that offer different types of restaurants, the Norwegian cruise line‘s (Ncl) ship doesn’t have a main dining room.
Ncl is mutually owned by Apollo management and Genting Hong Kong (Jr Brent et al 247). This makes marketing easy since they are already brand names and I will concentrate more on improving the index of the cruise line. With three ports that we continue on docking at in Cozumel, namely: Int’l Pier, Punta Langosta and Puerto Maya definitely we have a good number of clients.
