According to the study, effective leaders with global mind-set, planned strategies, profitable managerial thinking, tactical and structural flexibility of the organizations etcetera facilitate the success of the companies. Like the earlier researches, strategy implementation along with the role of strategic consensus plays a very important role in the strategy implementation process. Galagan (1997) argued that in order to develop a successful strategic plan and to secure a profitable future of the companies, the leaders invest more time, extensive marketing research, and expensive marketing of the products/ ideas, and this statement is well reinforced by this research.
This research also supports the research of Hardy (1994), which illustrates that the immediate understanding of the business tactics discloses that the strategists set vast game plans that are flexible and open-minded to deal with the problems associated or aroused during its implementation. Also, the study endorses the concept that an organization which bonds recompenses to the success of the stratagem employed is rewarded with advanced heights of organizational performance. Furthermore, strategy implementation plans need to be unmistakably developed, representing exact jobs for individuals, with clear-cut time frames and deadlines, and recognizing the people accountable for the completion of the task.
The study reveals that many of the strategic plans fail and does not bear fruits but, the senior-level leaders still improvise the implementation process. Senior-level leaders formulate the strategic decisions and impose them on the lower-level staffs, which includes both management and non-management employees, administratively. Valid and authentic decisions can boost the perception of the lower staff and employees. Consensus offers a promoting aura, growing strategic pledge, and improving the successful application of a given strategy. According to the study, frequent upward and downward communication establishes a strategic consensus through common insolences and values.
The research is quite an empirical one but, there are certain limitations associated with it. For example, the responses provided by the respondents (senior-level leaders) constitute their individual perceptions that have been or can be contributed to the success or failure of a strategy plan. The data collected depicts its relevance with certain specific problems experienced by the respondents.
This research study by James Schaap is one of the influential studies that illustrate a significant relationship between effective leadership and successful strategy implementation. The researcher has illustrated the concept of effective business strategies that dictates profitable future of the companies.
