Transitions Essay Examples

One of the classes that I particularly like attending is BPA. Its main goal is to help students in their transition to the university, and I like this goal very much. For me it means that the class is a special assistance to all the students, who really need it. With its help, it is possible to adapt to the new studying environment more quickly that allows for more efficient studying right from the start. Below I will explain what I like most about the class and what things I would like to change.
The first thing that I liked was the group assignment, in which we went to the most interesting places in the university and took pictures with them. Owing to this activity, I found out a lot about the university, saw its beauty and became proud that I will take active part in life of such a prominent place. Now I see my future plans more clearly, because one thing is to imagine your future surrounding, and another – is to see it all in action. I am very happy that I had a chance to see it all and to feel as if I am a part of it.
The second thing that I liked about the class is the grade presentation assignment. Owing to this type of activity, I saw all the peculiarities of university grade system. For me it was interesting not only to find out some theoretical information, but also to see some visual presentation, that helped me to understand the system, not just to get acquainted with it. I think that this knowledge will help me a lot, because without it is difficult to study and to see how well I coped with the assignment and what I have to pay most my attention to.
Now I want to write about the things that I didn’t like about the class. The first is the way of homework submitting. For me it was a bit confusing that there were two ways available to submit the tasks – to upload it to the website or to bring it to the class. I didn’t understand at first which way is better, or what I should do first of all. I think that it would be much better if there was one option, or if these options were better explained.
The second thing that I find confusing and difficult is writing a paper on the topic that I knew too little about. I had to find some book in the library and consider the topic from scratch. I think that for the beginning it would have been better to give a choice of topics so as students could choose something that they are familiar with and then find corresponding sources in the library and put them in the references list. In this way I could better show the way I can express my thoughts, logically organize them and develop the topic.
All in all, I can say that the drawbacks that I defined in the class are not too disappointing and I can handle them with time. Moreover, they are rather easy to change. As for the benefits of this class for me, I find it really interesting and inspiring. With its help it is much easier to form plans for future and imagine myself in this university.
