TruEarth Article Thoughts
TruEarth Healthy Foods has been making healthier food options for people since 1993, and one of their signature dishes for people to try out is fresh-baked pasta. It is important to note that all the pasta and natural, and it has no artificial flavors or preservatives as well. Now at the time that TruEarth Healthy Foods was founded, it is important to note that the company did not have much competition, since there were not many people around looking to make similar dishes. However, the problem began to arise when people began to enter the competitive market of making healthier food options to people, and of course, of these was pasta. As a result, this sparked competition, and TruEarth Healthy food had to step up their game more.
Now; this is the backstory of TruEarth, but as for the group that worked on the analysis of this company, I feel like what they demonstrated was executed very well, and the information definitely showed their knowledge of the material at hand. They did an excellent job at addressing what the company actually does, what they offer to their customers, and the problems that TruEarth faces as well. A lot of time and effort was put into the group work. For example; for the group work that involved analyzing TruEarth, not only did the group address the pros and cons of the company, but they took it a step farther as well. The work group decided to take a look at the pros in cons in regards to what TruEarth is attempting to do themselves to change their own situation. This is an example of going above and beyond analyzing and breaking down group work material. Now overall, I found the group work that the student did to be very interesting to read, and I also had to review it a few times since there is a lot to process. However, the other reading that drew my attention was “Initial Thoughts”.
“Initial Thoughts” Group E Analysis
Group E’s analysis was very interesting to look at, and I agree on the points that they all made. For example; in the first main points on the initial thoughts, they mentions that when it comes to TruHealthy Foods marketing their company and advertising their items to people, there should have been an option for something like a refrigerated pizza section and frozen pizza section should have been conducted. This is a fair point, as cheaper ways to make items for customers who cannot afford the more expensive items should be thought of in the process. In fact, in the pros and cons section that was in the previous document, cheaper but healthy items were put on the list, although I still feel like it should have been done earlier. Group E brings up many other important points, but another thing that stuck out to me is that fact that online ordering of pizza was not taken into consideration. This would boost the customer base of TruEarth Healthy Foods, as ordering online has become very common nowadays.
Now; in regards to the initial reaction, there were times where Group E did not go into a lot of detail, and I did feel like some depth was lacking. For example; I felt like they could have gone into more detail about what TruEarth Healthy foods can actually do in order to improve. At the same time though; Group E did bring up an interesting point; TruEarth Healthy Foods seems to not have done much marketing research experience, and their strategies to make their company better do appear to be lacking as well. In spite of the flaws of TruEarth Healthy Foods and the critique that they deserve, I do admire that Group E gives credit where credit is due, as they give the company praise for having a high spirit in all that they do, along with a good drive to make companies satisfied with their products.
In closing, TruEarth Healthy Foods is a very unique company, and the article was a very interesting read. Moreover, it is also good to see other students critique the company to see what they can do to improve their own products as well. Nothing is exempt from criticism, and there is always for improvement. Praise is a good thing, but there needs to be a balance between that, and critique as well.
