Re: Invitation of Mrs. Folla Armanios to Canada
I am a Canadian Citizen living and working in Ontario. In entered Canada as a “Refugee” in 2004. My refugee status details as at 2004 are shown in my CIC file. I cannot by any means return to my home country Egypt to meet my wife, my daughter and follow up for my properties there. My son started living in Canada recently. He is a permanent resident in Canada and he stays and works in Montreal, Quebec. He is awaiting his citizenship test and is preparing to carry on with his master degree in Industrial Engineering. Due to these ties, he is also unable to go back to Egypt to see his mother and sister. I am writing to invite my wife, Mrs. Folla Armanios, to Canada to stay with me for a period of up to six months for every visit. While in Canada, Mrs. Folla lives with me while at other times she stays with my son, Mina Youssef, a permanent resident of Canada.
However, she spends most of her time with my daughter who is married and stays in Egypt. The constant swings between Egypt and Canada made Mrs. Folla Armanios to lose her permanent residency in Canada. The reason given for losing her permanent residency status in Canada is that she was not able to meet the obligation of residency for the current five years period that ends in February 2013. This occurred in spite of the Federal Court of Canada’s ruling on various occasions that residency does not essentially mean physical presence in Canada. According this ruling, residence can include the time spent outside Canada when the applicant’s mode of living is centralized in Canada because the applicant’s spouse and children are in Canada and not abroad.
There are great family ties in Canada and Egypt. While my son and I are permanent residents of Canada, my daughter works full time in Egypt. My wife has to visit her and follow on my properties in Egypt. My grand child has a disability and my wife takes care of her while my daughter finishes her daily work. I will provide a letter from the doctor about my grand child’s status. My wife possesses a Ladies Beauty Center in Alexandria, Egypt, which is the largest shopping center. I will provide a letter from her account to give evidence for this property. In addition, she also follows up for my properties in Egypt with my lawyer because I am not allowed to go back there. These properties include a factory for producing motor vehicle spare parts, a 10000 square meters land in the main industrial area, a multi-story building which comprises of 42 leases and my wife lives in one of the units and another building in Cairo. An evidence for these properties is as shown in a letter from my lawyer. My wife has a saving account with $10000 and therefore she has sufficient funds to cater for her expenses during her stay in Canada. A certificate from her bank gives evidence for the money she has. She is also studying management in one of the greatest academies in Egypt. This can be shown in a certificate from her learning institution. Moreover, she provides services to our community in Alexandria, Egypt as it can be seen in a letter from her church. These ties made my wife lose her resident status in Canada.
My wife has no criminal records that could be attributed to her loss of permanent residence in Canada. She does not also have any records that could portray her as a potential threat to the Canadian security. In addition, there are no accusations that can be tabled as beings reasons for the loss of permanent Canadian residency. She is qualified to get a visa to Canada as per the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. She has had secure and sustainable stay in Canada during the previous visits and this is not going to change during her coming visits. My wife needs a multiple-entry visa to facilitate her visits to Canada whenever there is need. The present situation cannot allow us to stay in one place throughout because she has to attend to our daughter and ensure her sustainability as well as check on my properties in Egypt.
I am currently working as a building operator technologist and fire alarm technician in Ontario and this will help me to offer more financial support to my wife during her visit. I have a house in Ontario and therefore my wife’s accommodation is readily available. While not living in my house, she will stay with son who is working as a customer service in Quebec and is financially stable.
Mrs. Folla is will stay in Canada not for more than six months and her departure will be voluntary.
Attached is a copy of my Canadian Identity Card proving my citizenship in Canada. I have also attached other documents that have been mentioned in this application. I will appreciate your indulgence in making this process a success.
Thank you in advance for any support accorded to my situation.
