We have a healthy culture here at Semper Absum where our workers are at the center of everything that we do. We are empowered to do more and to achieve more with the time that we have. It is with this in mind that I hasten to update you on the results of the Efficiency Expert’s visit to our company. The visit revealed some matters that are counter- productive to the tradition of excellence that we seek to maintain.
In order to increase efficiency all employees are mandated to take the one hour lunch break each day away for their work area. It is felt that an employee is entitled to his or her lunch break which will allow for time to take care of personal business and get him reconditioned to completing the given tasks each day. For those persons who like to work through lunch we find that this is not the healthiest idea and in fact can cost the company or the worker a high medical bill. While it may seem to some that a working lunch will yield more production hours, it really only cause some to get weary and therefore lose the energy that is needed to take them to the end of the day.
This policy will take effect on Monday, the start of the work week. I have confidence in you that you will enforce this change with as little disruption as possible and that employees who do not feel comfortable with this decision will be given the benefit of discussing the matter in an amicable manner.
We are aware that making this adjustment may seem that we are trying to take away their personal choices, but we place the highest confidence in them and know that this move will not only benefit the company but also the employee. In fact, a one hour lunch break will rejuvenate the mind and body to take on any given tasks.
