The experiences of these Iraq war veterans in terms of the combat they did, injuries that tried to defeat them and their post-war experiences had a great impact towards the peace in Iraq. When Staff Sgt. Gregg Bumgardner was interviewed he stated that his experience in Iraq was one of the most important things that he did in his life. This can be true as he was part of one of the most crucial military operations in history. His experience shaped his behavior in many ways in terms of living his everyday life facing a life-threatening job. Meanwhile, Maj. P.K. Ewing said that his Iraq experience left him an injury that he still deals with after the war. This is part of the military operation in which many military men experienced. The war also changed his personal outlook and his whole persona as he was part of the life-changing experiences of the people of Iraq in which he agrees that it was a significant experience.
Former Sgt. Kelly Dougherty went into this military operation, despite her advocacy of being an anti-military occupation and invasion, which later thought her that her experience changed people’s lives. This only means that she never had the idea that being part of this operation will make her as one of many people who want to end the war in Iraq. It is true that this event made her thoughts about the military invasion very different before her deployment. On the other hand, former Lt. Wade Zirkle explained the hard times of his deployment when not enough military personnel were in the battlefield and without having the right tactics. This event made him advocate the increase of troop levels as it would be very hard to achieve their military goals without having a concrete plan including enough number of personnel. In spite all of these challenges; Zirkle still wants to win the battle so as to end the war to give honor to the United States Armed Forces.
Their experiences are comparable to an unforgettable, life-changing experience. These four veterans showed passion over their profession, which clearly brought an honor not only to US Armed Forces, but to the whole United States. So as to answer the question if it is worth doing it, yes it is because invasion is not always a negative act. Invasion is a patriotic rather incursion over Iraq to help the war ends and for people to live peacefully and abundantly.
