Warehouse health and safety risks
In an organization, the employer and the employees are bound by the regulation that enforces the health and the safety of the working place. In it, every player in the warehouses has the responsibility and duties to take care off in prevention of the risk that may arise. The employer has the responsibility of maintaining health, safety and the welfare of the employees. This is in the provision of health and safety policies, safety equipment and training of the staffs.
Talking of the employees, they have duties of ensuring the safety equipment are provided with the training on safety of how to handle machines. They have an obligation of reporting unsafe practice in the warehouse and not misusing of the safety equipment. The duties of the manufacturer are to ensure the safety of the product. This is on their use and also their environment. The machines should fit on the purpose they are intended for the efficiency and reducing the chances of risks.

Floor
In the warehouse, the floor should be kept clean and dry. This is to minimize the slippery that may lead to injury to the visitors and the workers. In addition, the floor should free from the holes thus should be maintained all the time. This is to prevent the risk that may occur during loading or offloading the tracks in the warehouse. The recommendation is the management of the warehouse should ensure the floor is smooth and the notice of the slippery floor.
Heating
In some warehouse, different levels of heating are required. The normal warehouse, the no special condition, works well at an average of 18 to 28 degrees centigrade. Taking the example of dairy products goes for the lowest temperature. Therefore, the level of the temperature depends with the condition and the purpose of the warehouse. The risk involved with the temperature of the warehouses is overheating or under heating leading to the production not meeting the standard. The results are the product going bad thus causing loss or production of an unhealthy product. This can be prevented by keeping and regulating the temperature according to the requirement and the condition of the production.
Housekeeping
The workplace regulations provide the guidelines that are to be used to prevent the hazards that may result in the warehouse. These hazards may result due to poor housekeeping such as cleanliness and the waste materials. Waste materials should not accumulate in the warehouse. Disposed of should be in a manner that no risk hazard can occur. Example, they should not be an obstruction to the emergency door. Finally, fire is another risk in a warehouse. The management should provide the precaution that should be taken in case of the fire. In additional regular training on how to handle the fire case should be done regularly as well to other hazards and how to respond accordingly.
