My topic for discussion is, “How Do Educational Attainment Affect Obesity Cases in the Modern Society?” I used the ABCDS of internet search and I compiled the following report. I conducted an online search on the topic and I picked Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention report on the topic. Below is a summary of the article I chose for this topic:
Bias: The article is an actual report, and a summary of complex research activities on the topic of obesity cases among the various groups of people in the United States of America. Therefore, the article is neutral and it provides information that can be relied to make up reliable decisions. Therefore, the article is unbiased since it is written by a government-sponsored agency.
Currency: The research that the article refers to was conducted in 2011, but was released for immediate publication on May 16, 2012. Apparently, the information detailed in the article can be termed as current and reliable for making informed decisions concerning the topic it covers.
Documentation: Although there was no working link to other credible sources, the article summarizes several research and study exercises that led to the conclusion that higher educational attainment led to decreased instances of obesity. The article provides a contact address from which an interested person can seek clarification on how to access the additional information as relayed in the article.
Additional Credibility Questions:
Purpose: The purpose of the article is to provide information on the topic of obesity and the way educational attainment influences its prevalence. The article aims at both an expert and a non-expert audience interested in studying the prevalence of obesity in the modern American society.
Accuracy: The article is largely accurate because it is peer-reviewed and published on a governmental website. The article relies on realistic research in which surveys were conducted and the obtained data analyzed extensively to yield the information that was published.
Suitability: The article has the information I needed in my research topic. It provides the statistics I wanted to confirm that indeed educational attainment influences the prevalence of obesity. Apparently, the article summarizes that obesity is prevalent among households in which parents have attained low levels of education.

Thanks Courtney for your insightful topic and analysis of the website source. Your analysis of the CNN-published article is informative and it has helped me improve my knowledge on the topic of how hurricane Katrina affected animals, specifically the home pets of the residents of the affected cities. It is important that you have listed some of the weaknesses that you found within the article and I like the way you have warned your audience that you will not be suing the article for your research activities.

The information that you have provided in your website source analysis is helpful in gauging the reliability of the article by Eric Cain. Indeed, I have never imagined that natural disasters could have an impact on crime rates. Although you have pointed that the article is quite biased, I believe that your insight is helpful in informing writers on the topic to study more on the relationship of the two variables.
