In the presentation Welcome home! It’s Canada! few issues are to be covered. First of all I would like to start with the description of peculiarities of Canadian culture and its diversity. I believe that it is very important to emphasize that even though Canada is multicultural and multinational country all the minority national group representatives have a solid position and equal opportunities to develop themselves as well as to develop their national traditions and style of life. Secondly, the high level of social and human tolerance being an inherent feature of Canadian society should be pointed out as it might be considered to be very positive as well as to be even negative side of immigration to Canada. It depends on the peculiarities of the country one is originally from. Thirdly, I strongly believe that it is very important to talk about common problems and tricky situations that might happen with those immigrants or tourists that experience their first time in Canada. And the last but definitely not least is the section with useful information, contacts and advices regarding stay in Canada.
The purpose of my presentation is to represent and understand cultural peculiarities of Canada influenced by immigrant groups in order to make stay and integration of newcomers easier and more comfortable.
The audience of my presentation should include those who have been living in Canada up to one year, so that during and after my speech we could organize sharing session between those who joined our big Canadian family short time ago and those who already got integrated but have not forgotten yet what it means to be an immigrant.
