I choose physical wellness as an issue that will get considered in explaining the current society. Physical wellness demonstrates the role of physical activities in maintaining a healthy body through disease prevention (Ohuruogu, 2016). Fitness is a healthy lifestyle since lack of body exercise leads to unnecessary illnesses, health complications, and even death. For this reason, healthcare calls for integrating physical activity as part of one’s lifestyle.
Physical exercise is connected to wellness because it eradicates body stress and fatigue that deprives victims of sleep and refreshment (Hoeger et al., 2018). People experience tension and headaches that lead to traumatic stress. For instance, during the Covid 19 pandemic, people developed a fear that led to stress as they got challenged with food insecurity to cater to their families. Such events lead to physical stress that can get eradicated through physical exercise. Despite gene hereditary that cause certain sicknesses and deaths, people who embrace physical exercise live longer than those who give up challenging their conditions. Also, physical activities prevent cardiovascular diseases as the heart and blood muscles become flexible to allow easier circulation. For these reasons, physical exercise is a wellness mechanism proved by its roles in prolonging lives and preventing fatigue, stress, and deadly cardiovascular diseases.
Reflecting on physical wellness impacts my understanding of wellness as the best mechanism that needs consistent maintenance. Good health is the source of productivity and happiness, while illness causes low productivity in value and volume. I discover that sick people are equally sad, leading to low self-esteem in the family and community. Therefore, I learn to advocate for physical exercise to maintain healthy tissues and avoid health-related challenges from lack of physical exercise. I also develop the need to advocate for people with medical challenges to get support and training equipment for maintaining healthy tissues and internal organs.
