While working in the laboratory it is extremely important to remember safety rules. It is not allowed to work in the laboratory without special clothes – robe and safety goggles. Leaving the premises of the laboratory with a robe on is also prohibited. Using protective clothing helps to prevent chemical burns in case of dangerous substances being spilt. Students are not allowed to eat and store food in the laboratory as it might become contaminated. It is prohibited to take utensils and reagents out for laboratory. Personal belongings (bags, folders, etc.) should be kept in specially designated areas, not on the tables. Before starting the work tables should be wiped with a cleaning solution. Each student before starting the work must verify that all needed items are on his desk to prevent any unnecessary movement and walking during the work. It is extremely important to be careful while working with acids and alkalis. Students must pour acid in water – not the other way around – as otherwise acid might start to boil and splash out of the vial. It is prohibited to touch your face with your hands as there might be trails of chemical substances on them (1). Another important part of work is using electrical equipment. Students must be careful and check if it is in the working order not to be electrocuted. Everybody should be well aware of first aid rules. At the end of the lesson it is necessary to arrange the desktop, wipe and clean the equipment, carefully wash your hands and remove the robe and goggles. All students should clean workspace with a cloth in case some spillage has taken place (2).
