Professional activity includes many aspects - economic, sociological, ethical, psychological, physiological, and others. I believe that in profession of physical therapist the main aspect is ethical. Its content lies in the fact that the sphere of moral relations between people manifests itself in their professional activities, their moral and value system, behavioral priorities, moral and ethical criteria of deeds performed by man in contacts with coworkers, the community and society.
Professionalism as the ability of a person to implement appropriate activities, transforming the world, cannot be understood narrowly and only from the point of view of the ownership of a particular skill. I believe that a broader approach is needed. It should include moral and spiritual characteristics of the person, without which it is impossible the most effective implementation of professional activities. No wonder that there such things in public opinion as professional honor and dignity. The moral essence of man becomes the manifestation in the created things using the skill that is combined with dignity. Moreover, the higher the skill of the person, the more developed is his sense of dignity. True professionalism also implies the responsibility of the employee.
The modern physical therapist needs to think creatively and solve complex problems independently. In addition, it is necessary in accordance with changes in production to improve their skills, adapting to new knowledge, techniques and technologies. System training is becoming a prerequisite of successful work of any person engaged in professional activities. Knowledge is the basis of professionalism. Through knowledge man does not only takes possession of an object creatively, but also makes it perfect. And the essence of being lies in the free creative activity in the practical transformation of the world, and which is subject to professionalization.
I also believe that professionalism in this sphere involves the formation of intelligence, which in this case means the ability to meet new challenges and to produce new knowledge. First of all, intellectual culture means that intellectual activity requires a certain amount of knowledge. A special role in the necessary, obligatory layer of knowledge is given to professional knowledge.
Consequently, intellectual development includes professional competence. And the distinction here is rather arbitrary. As creativity, ability to find innovative solutions requires a broad knowledge, of knowledge from a variety of industries, there arises the problem of selection of information. Secondly, it is important to have a culture of thinking, without which no professional in any field can realize himself today.
Thus, professionalism is associated with education. A person's ability to work depends on the level and quality of general and professional knowledge. I hope that I will gain necessary knowledge during the doctor of physical therapist degree program. These indicators determine the intellectual potential of workers and specialists. Knowledge of laws of development of nature and society, open-mindedness, which is formed by a person with the first steps of his life, but especially in the process of education, forms the basis of creativity in the production, in all socially useful activities. However, direct mechanical relationship between the level of General education and professionalism are not always significant. Education is the foundation of professionalism, but the latter is not confined only to the first. Professionalism is formed, in the end, all of a person's lifestyle and it significantly depends on the personality traits of a person.
