What does the term “fairy tale” mean to you? Can you remember the first fairy tale you heard or read? What did you like or dislike about it?
Fairy tales are short stories that contain European folkloric characters with an aim of teaching morals and exiting children. The first fairy tells that I first read is “the ugly giant”. I liked it so much because it has a successful ending. The other reason I may have not liked it is because it was scaring to imagine the huge ugly giants.
My favorite fairy is “Rappunzzel”, it had a very good story that talks about one of the most beautiful girls with a very long golden hair, and the ending fulfills my wish.
Why do you think fairy tales have endured for so long?
Fairy tells have indeed endured so long because of various, for instance Most of them contain folk characters, which means they are derived from ancient life. Secondly personally I read them over twenty years ago but up to today they are still being used by today’s students.
What makes a great fairy tale?
A fairy is great because of specific reasons, the first, it should fitting the readers, it is not unwise to use mature in a fairy tell meant for kindergarten pupils. It ends up not making sense and boring. Secondly, the ending should be a happy one. This is because one of the reasons for these fairy tells is to excite the readers, if it does not excite them it cannot be considered great.
Can you think of some movies – that take place in modern-day times – that could actually be examples of fairy tales?
Currently, technology has improved the system of entertainment. Fairy tells have been modified into movies today for instance cartoon movies take place of the fairy tells of the ancient times. This is evidenced in movies like “Tom and jerry”.
Are there television shows on-the-air – animated or live action – that have fairy tale elements, or have had an episode that seemed to incorporate a mix of fantasy and reality?
There are various televisions shows that on- the- air, which are animated at the same time they are live actions, for example “Leave It to Beaver” represents the post-war American family. This show can be considered in two categories that is to say either as an animated fairy tell movie or as an action movie.
