Looking at the globe, people observe different areas of our huge planet and mostly all these areas are inhabited by citizens of multiple races, languages, cultures, moral values and various outlooks. The question of judgment what is right and what is wrong in different cultures concerns the popular scientific approach of ethical relativism. Ethical relativism isn`t focused straightly on ethics and morality but on cultural values and tendencies of the particular social surroundings. These values are not commonly moral for the whole world`s society and can even be immoral in other cultures and nationalities. It`s an undeniable fact that the subject of cultural diversity is constantly topical and the ignorance of it can lead to substantial misunderstandings between nationalities. The knowledge of cultural peculiarities helps people to unite, interact and create similar outlooks.
Ethical relativism is based on the idea that nobody can judge another person who sticks to his own principles and morals. The wrong thing is to refuse from personal values because somebody considers that you think in an inappropriate way. Analyzing the idea of ethical relativism, a person realizes that the main task is to respect all the cultures even if they do not match somebody`s personal morals. In fact, truth is always defined by the crowd and mistakes are made by separate individuals. There are a lot of countries like Iran where people have limited rights and doubtful freedom. They have too little connection with media world and are not aware of world`s urgent affairs. These tendencies and laws are wrong for the USA and the most of European countries but it`s right for Iran and its culture should be respected as well. People cannot be prohibited to cultivate their culture and beliefs because it`s immoral. It will lead to cultural conflict and collapse in relations between countries. It`s a common knowledge that the new cultural issue or belief can be accepted in some cultures only if society consents to it. Certainly, every culture is filled with good and wrong morals. It helps to differ nationalities, plunging into someone`s culture and analyzing its peculiarities. Sticking to the own morality and outlook, a person can be a good representative of the personal culture. But the main aspect, which is common for all nationalities is to appreciate all the cultures, even if it`s completely discrepant to the own nation.
Every individual sees himself right in his own eyes and when other people agree with him they will make friends and get along quickly. It`s a law of human nature. Due to this fact, the world is rich in various types of personality who fit various cultures. World’s cultures often mix their morals, principles and beliefs. A person will fit not only his culture, but different others. The cultural diversity enriches any country, especially multicultural. People with different nationalities bring something new and sometimes extraordinary to country`s traditions and general atmosphere as well. They enlarge the sphere of language, teach various skills and transfer new knowledge. All these contributions are invaluable and influence a lot social and cultural development. Different ethnic groups should be valued by the society and supported by the government. It`s extremely necessary for teachers and parents to teach children to respect other nationalities and to be interested in their cultures and traditions. This way of upbringing will improve the social sphere and encourage people to be tolerant with their fellows. The interaction between people makes any country stronger and hospitable. The social power will increase the moral standards of people which are completely different in every nation throughout the world. People cannot be judged by their identity because everybody is unique and needs to be seen and heard by others. There is one guiding right for all people – to help his or her fellow when a person needs it and no matter what morality he possesses and what beliefs he supports.
