What is the organization’s mission and objective?
Apple as an organization has its mission and objective in place that enables following the guidelines in due consideration of the requirements. The company objective is based on the excellence achievement, customers satisfaction, providing the best services in every domain of specialty and brand product that is being offered.
Mission statement entails the innovation par quality delivery with regard to the services and products that are being produced by the parent entity. According to the official document the mission statement composes of the” creating the best in the entire blend of services and products namely Mac, Ipad, I Phone and its patented operating system OS X ”( BLODGET, 2013)
The core excellence factor:
Apple Inc is driven by the salient feature of innovation. It strongly believes in the management concept of “first to market” and thereby aims to launch the electronic items ahead of any rival. Other factors like customer oriented services allow for better responses and good customer relationship making it an Apple family as a whole.
How would you describe the diversity that exists or does not exist?
Apple Inc has a broader base when it comes to diversity. Some other multinationals may be termed as anti diversity oriented, Apple Inc has demonstrated diverse practices through its actions. Two small symbolic actions speak volumes of it. The CEO of Apple Inc Tim Cook has two frames of photos in his office. One is that of Martin Luther King. Apple Inc believes in bringing people from different backgrounds together and working with them regardless of any social and cultural affiliations.
Apple Inc takes diversity as an opportunity and cashes in through it in form of variety that comes along the diversity factor.
Apple Inc through its manifesto clearly declares equal payment and opportunities to anyone within the organization regardless of any class or cultural difference. Employees under the umbrella of Apple Inc work as a family in a collective manner. One of the schemes undertaken in this regard are National Minority Supplier Development Council.
Organizational culture:
Culture plays a vital role towards the general attributes and orientation of personnel within the organization. Apple’s organizational culture is highly participative and decentralized. The members associated and concerned have their tasks clearly defined and have sufficient chance of giving their input for new ideas and products manufacturing. The company also makes sure that its ideas and products in process are not revealed to outside sources and they must remain to the employees associated. Since the new items that are not brought forth by any other brand or franchise would require novelty thereby it is a prerequisite keeping the entire information confidential. Hence establishing confidentiality is part of the organizational culture in Apple Inc.
Element of change:
Apple Inc has managed achieving the excellence through the change factor. Making it part of its routine activities and coming up with new innovations defines its policy of change. Change allows for thinking in a broader perspective and touching on new horizons and creating new products and services (Quinn & Cameron, 2011).
During the era of Steve Job, the culture was driven by full dedication and each member was expected to participate and contribute in his/her own capacity. At times the company is being dubbed for as one against the rest that comes in form of Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Ericson and other notable leads of the mobile and technological industries in electronic domain.
How do u think the organization’s mission and vision impacts the organizational culture
The mission and objective of any organization has large impact on the internal environment of the incumbent organization. This in turn allows for creation of culture based on the mission and vision intact. A mission that is driven by support, coordination and quality consideration would allow for a culture establishment based on competition, quality work performance and creative opportunities creation amongst the employees. It allows the employees to think out of the box and work for the betterment of the organization in their own capacity.
