Why do people feel the need to deviate from clear direction?
The easiest way to get from point A to point B is drawing a straight line and simply following it. That would be the right choice to make, regardless of the way you look at it. However, doubt is a part of human nature which we have been trying to get rid for ages and have not succeeded so far. Following God’s path without questioning His will and without being tempted to turn the other way is what we call faith. But people are still convinced that there is still a better place out there and changing their rout would lead them to eternal happiness. Yes, it may bring some satisfaction for a short period of time. But is it actually worth it in a long-term perspective? People question God’s will, doubt his guidance and seek for a better life beyond his reach, and nevertheless, fail miserably every time they do.
Will that always result in a negative outcome, or can God use it as his purpose?
People deviating from clear direction is definitely wrong, however, it is still an experience. And if a person is smart enough, he would rather learn from someone else’s mistakes than his own. As a caring parent, God always gives us a choice to make mistakes, regardless how severe the consequences can be. In my opinion, God always uses our mistakes as His purpose and a way of showing us the right path and helping us get back on it. In the end, people will pay for their mistakes and all wrong deeds they have done before, but the experience and knowledge we gain while committing them will always remain by our side. And if a person is wise enough, he would never make similar mistakes again and will do his best to teach the others using his own example.
