In today’s competitive world of advanced technology, education has become a necessity for a human being after the basic necessities of food, shelter and clothing. Education makes a person perfect in every respect as it helps to promote good manners and also makes the person aware of everything around. It plays a key role in everyone’s life. Education is very important to order to succeed in life, and moreover, to lead a better life. Good and quality education develops and nourishes the inner personality of a person as it provides both physical and mental standard to live a better life.
The more education and knowledge a person gets in a life, the wiser he or she will become. Education is considered as constructive as it helps to construct the future of a person and keep building self-confidence all through the life. There is loads of information to be gained nowadays through the internet and without education; it is very difficult to convert the information into knowledge.
The basic education starts right from the childhood. The child starts with learning small things from the people around and starts with the formal education in a school after a few years. The school years are known as the grounding years of a person’s education (Oak). Schools act as the foundation stones for the person’s overall development. They help a child to become an educated and a responsible citizen of a country. Kautilya, an Indian philosopher, and the professor of economics and political science have underlined the role and importance of education, some 2000 years ago (Oak). He said that education is a lifetime investment that can have a great impact on the future and the growth of a country.
Being literate is different from being educated. Literacy makes a person read and write and education makes a person use his or her ability to reason, to gain the spectrum of knowledge by going deeper into the ocean of education. There have been thousands of debates going on, why education is so important in a person’s life. There are a number of reasons for this. Some of them are:
The first reason as to why education is important is it gives knowledge to a person.
It helps in creating a great career for the rest of the life.
The character of a person is known by the education, he or she gets in a life.
Education allows a person to reason against the illogical. It removes all the wrong beliefs from a person’s mind by making him or her think logically as it helps to find answers to theoretical questions.
It gives full exposure to the outside world. It spreads awareness as an educated person always tries to understand each and everything on its own.
An educated person knows about his health better than an uneducated person.
An educated person is more self-confident and is not intimidated by the challenges and barriers to reach the target.
Education helps in the economic growth of a country as they become self-sufficient and more productive. Educated people are aware of their country’s laws and rules, along with their fundamental rights. They know the value of government taxes and always pay them on time.
Education helps in bringing a number of job opportunities for a person and it is very necessary for becoming financially independent.
Nowadays, technology plays an important role in continuing the communication of education through known and unknown persons. It is the only fundamental way by which a desired change and upliftment in the society can be taken into effect ("Importance Of Education – Why It Is Important In Life ?").
Self-enlightenment is another word for education. It is necessary for the overall development of both the person and the society in which he or she lives. The importance of education is well-defined in the US President Barack Obama’s speech. In his national address across the nation, he said: " Every single one of you has something special in you. Every single one of you has something to offer to this world (Oak). And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is (Oak). That's the opportunity an education can provide (Oak)." A country’s future is decided by the education, the people are getting. Education makes us be like our great heroes who have given the world a lot, which was not possible without education. It’s a goal, a big treasure that can make you rich and fill out with knowledge (""Education Is Important In One's Life""). Education has reduced the problem of malnutrition in many countries. The expansion of women’s education since 1990 accounts for a reduction of 902,799 child deaths ("Https://Www.Concern.Net/About/Our-Programmes/Education/Why-Education-Important"). The attitude of an educated man towards women has changed as compared to uneducated men who disrespect them and are violent towards their family as well.
Education teaches us how to manage the time. It teaches us how to work under pressure by utilizing every piece of knowledge. It is true that education is not limited to, schools or colleges only and not even to age; it can be gained from all the practical things happening around us.
Last, but not the least, education creates the journey of life more joyful as it makes the person to excel in every field of life. It is the only way to keep you updated on a regular basis as it helps a person to become a perfect human being.
