This story is about a couple waiting for their baby to be born and thinking about good and bad things related to each gender. They do not want to know baby’s sex and all they care about is that the child is healthy. Richard says: “Nearly 60 percent of the bachelor's degrees in this country today go to women. Same number for graduate degrees. “(Dorment 697). This fact is encouraging because it seems that women are finally getting equal rights as men in the world.
Moreover, men are more inclined to develop vices such as drugs, gambling or alcoholism than women. Some people think that both men and women can have all the success in life, but that is not really the fact because either sex has its advantages and disadvantages. What is important is that men and women are equally as important and that they share their roles both in at home and at work. Dorment says that his wife is more successful than him which is why he believes that women are the stronger sex. His wife has a bigger salary and takes care about their son as much as he does. Moreover, both of them take care of the chores at home which include things that should be done by a cleaning lady. The strength of a person is individual which is why women can be stronger than men at times, although men are physically dominant. When it comes to intellect, both sexes have the same capacities of making progress in life. Men and women are equal and they should be treated as such in all the societies. It true that women cannot be without men and vice versa and they need each other in order to survive and to create a bright future for the humanity.
