The covering of head is typical for all three main religions Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In the course of the centuries, many things have been changed though the tradition of covering a woman’s head not only in a sacred place but in everyday life too is still alive and carries out in Muslim lifestyle. Why is it so strong? Is it more than just clothes?
Qur’an explains the dress code for the believers and established several rules about clothes for both men and women.
The first rule says that clothes must be nice and luxurious but the best garment for a faithful person is righteousness. “O Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your private parts and as an adornment; and the raiment of righteousness, that is better.”(Qur’an 7-26)
The second rule demands to cover the bosoms. “And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidding things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornments except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, head-cover, apron, etc.), and to draw their veils all over their bodies, necks and bosoms.” (Qur’an 24:31) It is also mentioned in this sura, that women can reveal some parts of their body only at the presence of her close relatives, close relatives of her husband, and female servants.
The third rule is to lengthen the garments. “O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better , that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed.” (Qur’an 33:59) ("Women's Dress Code Acording To Quran | Submission.Org - Your Best Source For Submission (Islam)")
While these three rules are the basic for faithful women and as usually, they follow them even if they live or study in non-Muslims countries, such as European countries, the USA, and others. The peculiarities of Muslim women’s clothes is set up in Qur’an, thus clothes are the essential part of the Muslim faith. These clothes have a special design not only to prevent sinful thoughts and sexual harassment but in order, a Muslim woman be recognized easily by the other people and in this way she honors and praises Allah and does her special missionary work.
There are four types of headscarves that Muslim women wear, depending on occasions, place of living and the country laws.
The hijab is a variety of headscarves that are very popular in the West, Arab world and beyond. These veils consist of one or two veils that cover head and neck.

They can be two types the half-niqab, consists of a headscarf and a facial veil that leaves the eyes and the part of the forehead opened, and the full niqab, that leaves just a narrow opening for the eyes. This style most common in the Gulf States.
The chador is a shawl that covers full body and closed at the neck with a pin but leaves the face opened. It mostly black color and common in the Middle East, especially in Iran.
