Human beings are social creatures who live in a society under different social regulations. There are many activities which take place in the society, some are acceptable while others are considered to be a threat and unacceptable to the society. Even with human freedoms, there are regulations on the extent of human freedom in a social society. The activities it is engaged in and the type of people who love in it identify a society.
As much as there is social, diversity in the society in terms of religious, cultural, political and economic practices and believes, there are practices that the society has rejected and those who practice it face the wrath of the society. Witches have remained to be social outcasts for many years; one incident that reminds people of torture and the death that fell upon witches was the Salem Witch Trials. Long before this trial, many children, women and men were killed after they were suspected to be involved in the dark powers of witchcraft. The Salem Witch Trials marked the highlight towards the killing of those suspected to be practicing witchcraft in Europe. People referred as witch hunters started killing any person accused of witchcraft even without any clear evidence. The ultimate sentence for witchcraft torture and death. Even in 21st century witch hunting still takes place, There are many cases where people suspected of practicing witchcraft have been burnt and brutally murdered in countries such as Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, India and Papua New Guinea.
Witchcraft is a dark power associated with many social evils. It is associated with the worship of Satan and, therefore, the ultimate punishment for a witch is death. The society has no place for witches; they have been accused to be behind death, diseases and other challenges that are being faced in the society. People believe that getting rid of witches will reduce the social evils. Christians believe that the devil has no place in the world, and they are determined to kill any person who practices witchcraft since witches are considered followers of the devil. Witchcraft is an opposition of the worship of true GOD, believers in GOD are likely to follow the teachings of the bible
In the past, there were many natural disasters such as drought, earthquakes and floods, which were associated with witchcraft. Once the witches were identified and killed, there was a decrease in the number of these disasters; people were convinced that the disasters were the dark powers of the witches. The only way that people can deal with evil is to destroy it, witches are evil, and they cannot be accepted in the society. As much as there is right and freedom to worship, there are regulations on moral . The society does not believe that the law can deal with witches; people believe that prisoning witches does not prevent them from engaging in their evil and the only solution is death. Once one has been accused of witchcraft it is difficult to deny the allegations since this is more of a believe, this explains why many people accused of witch craft are killed and have no chance prove themselves innocent.
A witch is described as an agent of Satan and has no place in the society, which believes in GOD, the religious conflict that has been there for many years is not likely to end soon. AL long as witches are evil, they will are likely to face the death punishment since the society does hates and rebukes Satanism.
