I love animals especially cats and horses. Owning a pet has been an enhancement of my self-esteem and companionship. Having cats around teaches me to be more responsible and respectful to other living beings. I also feel that owning a pet makes me more involved within the activities including sports, hobbies and chores. I have also read in books that having an animal during various therapy sessions for the ailing patients or other animal-assisted treatment presents significant improvements for the treatment procedures majorly for child suffering from such ailments (Verderber, Verderber & Sellnow, 2010). I adore horses as well and I would wish to be a good jockey one day.
I also love ballet as it has a wide range of benefits. One of them, as well all know is the fact that it promotes better posture. Evidently, ballet exercises require using good posture as well as alignment. For such a reason, most ballet classes that I attend teaches postural alignment exercises that come in handy in promoting good posture and creating awareness of good alignment as one carries out daily activities (Greenberg & Ainsworth, 2012). The other ballet benefit is that it sculpts and at the same time, tones my body. The due movements which are taught within the ballet classes are purposely designed to tone as well as firm muscles which develop bulk so I develop lean muscles as opposed to the rest of the thick and bulky ones. Finally, ballet benefits enable the development of poise and body awareness (Adams & Donovan, 1995). As I take ballet lessons, I am taught a whole scope of simple exercises popular as barre. The exercises are aimed at building poise and grace for the necessary traits for a successful ballerina.
